Most of you will know which one.

That one drawer either dedicated or not to things. The catch-all. The medicine drawer. Whatever.

When we overhauled our kitchen and pantry 20 years ago we made sure to have drawers. And all the sideboards and other pieces have drawers.

And we are pretty organized at one level because we have lots of drawers.

But today, (ugh) I tackled the family meds drawer and sorted out all the meds and other assorted stuff for my partner, our cats and me. I do this every winter with one or two drawers every few years.

Do you have the catch alls and have I guilted you into going through at least one of them and alphabetizing the contents?

Quite a few years ago, I participated in a neighborhood garage sale; and, someone had just pulled their junk drawer out of their cabinets and donated it, full of odds-n-ends. I think the entire drawer & it's contents was priced at $ 3.00

Yep. When I tidy up the lounge I throw everything i dont know what to do with into a drawer in case I might need it one day. I go through it once it starts sticking with the contents catching on the sides and this process repeats every 6 months or so. 😀

Drawer? For me is is drawer(s) and many of them. I clean them out every once in awhile but they fil back up pretty fast.

Yea. Cleaned out one small junk draw today. Next is the huge vintage punch bowl on the counter. No clue what's in there. It will be like Christmas :)

So that's where those scissors went! I've turned the house upside down. If you come across a red plastic gadget for popping the stones out of cherries that's mine too.

This is the top layer. I don't want to disturb it unless I really need to, as I may not get it back in. Every room in my house has its own tape measure in a drawer. There's no particular reason, it's just the way it is. Items too big for the drawers end up behind the sofa in the living room. That's the beauty of a three-seater, plenty of space round the back.

The whole house is a catch all for crap been trying to dig through my dads hoarder shit!

The fun part with the 'first aid drawer' is marshalling all the meds for all of us (including the cats) that need to be disposed of at the pharmacy. It is amazing how much more room there is when the half full $80 a bottle ear drops for the departed kitty...or a canister of Prednisone that is still 3/4 full are out of the trays.

I have three junk drawers, one in the kitchen for gadgets and misc tools. One in the fish tank stand for the cats’ stuff and fish stuff and one bedroom nightstand drawer for meds and miscellaneous personal items. Then I have 2 baskets in the tv stand for all the wires and adapters and remotes, games and dvds.
