Had an experience recently that's left me feeling stupid. Was trying to reconnect with someone after a long period, and he suggested we make it a dinner. I wasn't thinking it was a date, but I wasn't entirely sure it wasn't either. We hadn't spend much time together in the past, so it was hard to tell what the vibe of the evening was. We paid separately, and even though it was clear he has a GF, there was this awkwardness. It came up during the convo that he knows some people I know...
...even though I wasn't interested in pursuing anything romantic, I wrote a follow-up email about something he'd mentioned, honestly hoping to erase the weirdness that I was feeling at the end of our meal. He hasn't replied. I don't know why I wrote back - if he thinks I'm interested, then that must have seemed like a "move" on my part. I was really trying to say "look, I hope you don't think that was a date or something" but obviously that can't be said.
So now...I'm wondering what and if he might be saying to the other people we know, and if he's convinced I'm after him or something. Arg! Confusion.
