The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards [merged]

I heard it goes nationwide is Christmas. Like every other fucking movie that wants to win an Oscar this year.

Official release date for "Up in the Air" is Christmas. It is out in Boston I am not, at this moment, in Boston. "Avatar" hasn't come out yet. "It's Complicated" comes out Christmas. "Nine" comes out Christmas. And "Invictus" just came out. My point simply was I haven't had much of a chance to see these things.

Being nominated twice in the same awards is already problematic. But in the same category, it's always trouble.

I just don't think it's fair that Sandra Bullock, Matt Damon, Meryl and a couple others get DOUBLE nominations...I know 2009 was the Year of the "B-Actor" but the FP couldnt find any other worthy nominees?

Meh. The Academy doesn't always recognize everyone that that the FP does. FP's acting lists are always better that the Academy's so I'm really, really scared.

Some of you people have no respect for industry awards.

You say Rihanna "has no talent and cant sing" yet she has a Grammy which is musics highest honor.

Then you go and say that Anna Paquin is an "awful actress" when she won an Oscar - the industrys highest honor.

You are just haters; but hate all you want you can never take away Rihannas Grammy or Annas Oscar.

How Green is my Valley winning against Citizen Kane, Maltese Falcon and The Little Foxes
The Greatest Show on Earth winning against Singin' in the Rain
John Wayne winning against Dustin Hoffman (1968 )
Art Carney winning against Jack Nicholson and Al Pacino (1974)
Uma Thurman not being nominated (2003)

ETA Pia Zadora winning a Golden Globe in 1981

Damn right we're gonna hate.

Um... okay.

I still say Anna sucks, LoL.

I like Anna Paquin, and she's a great actress, but her nomination for the character she plays maybe isn't quite as deserving. But who am I kidding? I'm glad TB got nominations!

But it really bothers me that they still haven't separated the noms for TV supporting actor and actress. If the movie noms get separate categories for actor/actress in a drama, and actor/actress in a comedy or musical, why can't they do the same for TV? Seems like a no brainer.

Just because members of the voting body believe these people (or any recipient) deserves an honor doesn't mean that their performances are good and should be considered so as a fact. This isn't math or science. It's opinion. And whether someone is lay or industry professional doesn't mean that their evaluation of art is innately inferior or superior to that of a member of another group.

Anyone watch the Critics Choice? They say the the Critics Choice gives insight on how the Oscars will go, but then again, don't they say that for every awards event?

I watched the Critic's Choice Friday, I seriously think they did that tie for Best Actress to be nice. When has Meryl Streep not won an award, and Sandra Bullock is getting the praise that has been long overdue. I think Monique has it locked in for best supporting actress.

Agreed. Though, I think that Gabourey Sidibe was also good, but I'm not sure if Hollywood is ready to hand an award to a new-comer.

I think Avatar losing Best Picture must have been a hard hit. Of all the Best Picture nominees, I've only seen Avatar, which I thought was really good. It's ironic that James Cameron lost Best Picture and Best Director to his ex-wife!!

Congrats to Michael C. Hall and John Lithgow. Both men deserved their awards. Totally made my night.

Dexter or True Blood should've won Drama Series. Mad Men bores me.

Kudos to Meryl Streep. She was fantastic in Julie & Julia.

Monique's acceptance speech was very touching.

I haven't see Sandra Bullock in The blind Side but may go this Tuesday. Was hoping Gabourey Sidibe would win, she was excellent in Precious.

Way to go Mo'nique!

I was disappointed Jane Lynch didn't win supporting actress. Not that I have anything against Chloe Sevigny, but they should really separate that category into drama and comedy/musical. It's really easy -- just omit one of the mini-series/TV movie categories that very few people care about.

I was a little shocked that Sandra Bullock and The Hangover won their categories. I thought they were just the token "popular" nominations, but good for them. I bet Lindsay Lohan is kicking herself even harder now.

And even though I love Mad Men (and they've had a great 3rd season), I'm also a little sick of them winning everything. I was hoping True Blood would win.

Christophe Waltz was my only prediction that I got right, even though his speech was waaay cheesy. Meryl "T Bone" Streep doesn't count because she's almost guaranteed to win in whatever category she's nominated in, and she was nominated twice in the same category, no less.

Bridges, Hall, Lithgow and Waltz I nailed, but damn if I don't feel like Bigelow and Tarantino got robbed. 'Avatar' was great, but it wasn't original. Ugh.

I don't know why the GLOBES decided to go with a host this year...The Actors needed more time to thank their peeps...None of the Award shows need a host...

Mo'Nique's win was not a surprise and I love her acceptance speech. She Looked amazing in that Gold dress...

The FUNNY, FUNNY thing about the "Best Actress" category is when they called Sandra Bullock's name everyone at that table was RELIEVED...LOL...Everyone was thinking Gabby from "Precious' would win...

I Love Sandra but it's going to be interesting to see what happens at the SAG awards on Saturday night...The "Best Actress" category is going to be up in the air through Oscar night...

I would not have awarded "Avatar" with "Best Director & Picture" but we'll see if it can continue winning at the SAG awards...

Jeff Bridges has waited a lifetime for some Gold and I'm glad he got it..Jeff's win last night might have stopped George Clooney in his tracks for the Oscar......Everyone I talked to says George's "Up in the air" is doom & Gloom and not really a comedy flick..That movie is not getting good reviews..

It ain't over yet....The SAGS & the OSCARS will tell the story...
