The ACM's dissing the Dixie Chicks

Chicks don't deserve to be nominated. What country hits have they had in the past year?

Umm the album Taking the Long Way...it's more country than half of the nominees this year.

It looks like "country hits" have nothing to do with this years nominations anyway. Presenting, Diamond Rio, Emerson Drive, Miranda Lambert, Lonestar, Gretchen Wilson. None of which appeared in the Top 20 on the country singles chart this year. I would have to check but I think all of their albums are over a year old as well. That means their nominations are based soley on the performance of their singles, which have been nothing to write home about.

ETA: Also, LeAnn Rimes wuzrobbed. She had a number 1 single this year yet didn't even get a nomination in the Female Vocalist category over Miranda or Sara, who haven't even been near the top of the charts lately.

To this whole thread: . . . . who cares!

The Dixie Chicks are and have been successful and amazing recording artists. Who cares about them not recieving the nomination for the ACM's, they'll just be pushed to fight harder and will be more succesful.

Evryone said they would fall hard as rocks after the bush comments . . . and they proved them all wrong. Taking the Long Way is a brilliant album and they should be commended for it. If the ACM chooses to ignore and sink low, then let them, it just shows that the winners aren't who they should be (not saying the Chicks should win every category but come on, at least nominations, they are miles ahead of others). Obvoiusly the votes are skewed in a particular view.

I wish they were getting more airplay, though...

I also would have liked to have seen more noms for Leann and Sugarland as well...Some of those nominated are just, "Who are you, again?"...
