HI,

I, and I assume most people, were getting notifications to uninstall Adobe Flash Platey by December 31st because it was going out of us? So I have done , but NOW on certain video websites I cannot access the videos there any more easily like before when they just played when you clocked on them. One site also said Adobe Flash player needs to be installed to watch videos. So i am confused. HOW do I watch the videos I used to.

You may still need Flash for the rare site that absolutely refuses to work without it, so don't uninstall it from your system. Instead, use an add-on to keep Flash blocked from your browser unless you specifically allow it.

I got no notifications to uninstall Flash .. but then again I have allot of that spy crap which would generate such notifications blocked or disabled.
I know flash is officially 'dead' now, but I'm keeping it installed just incase I need it for something.

OK can you further explain: you say I can use an add on to keep Flash blocked from my browser?

a) what add on do I need to do that,

and b) why would I need to do that?

That poster is saying you can configure Flash to be blocked EXCEPT on specific sites where you enable it. In terms of why you'd do that, the site might use a Flash-based player to render the video. A more modern standard is HTML 5 (such as what Youtube uses). Sites have known about the decommissioning for many years so the "major" ones should already be using alternate technology - their own players that aren't Flash-based, typically. Often, you can also "download" videos either through the site's paid option or using a tool like "Video DownloadHelper", though it won't support 100% of the time.

Can you provide some more details about your environment? Which browser are you using (i.e. Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge, etc.)? This used to work for Chrome, for instance, but now they don't support the plug-in.

Your mileage may vary with techniques like this one described in this video. Instead, you might check if your site offers other player means vs. Flash because surely other users would be having that issue as well in the last few weeks.
