The Amazing Race 13

Actually Colin and Christie took 2nd place behind Chip and Kim, with Brandon and Nicole finishing 3rd in TAR5 - OLN Canada just reran it.

Competing neck and neck to finish the final task could just as easily refer to two teams as three which has been the case more often than not. Season 12 was one of the few in recent memory when all three teams were at the final task together.

Was wondering why D & T were never shown in any of the finish line footage tonight - thanks for a link that answered all my questions.

I really didn't care who won of the 2 worthy teams so it wasn't emotional for me at all - which is rare with this show.

As much as I don't want to like Nick & Starr, they were the most deserving team to win, competitive-wise.

But damn, did Nick look hot in this episode...

... but overall I didn't like this leg of the race. The challenges were in no way as interesting or challenging as the Moscow leg. DANDrew didn't even put up a challenge! And the editing was annoying!

And most of all... no mention of Toni and Dallas AT ALL. :(

Oh well... I can't wait for 14 to air. :)

Wow this is truely an amazing race lol.

This was my first full season and was captivated frpm day one.

Congrats Nick and Star. I got goosebumps and simulated running to the final pitstop with them it was so exciting.

I couldnt have picked a better season to start watching.

There was one moment tonight that i wanted Ken and Tina to win but Tina is just such a bitch to Ken it was disgusting. I doubt they gonna make it.

I said it before but its clear why this show keeps winning the Emmy.

I have a question. When contestants flag down a taxi does a camera man jump in with them? It looks like a hidden cam already in the taxi.

it was so closed. great ending.

i think he sits in the front. in a nick & star's scene, the driver was cleaning.

Nick & Starr were on the CBS Early Show and Nick said something about living with his girlfriend. I was so hoping he was gay.

It Is Nice To See After So Many Seasons Amazing Race Is Still Able To Thrill. My Heart Was Pounding At The Very End - Then When I Saw Nick And Starr - Relief.

My Only Disappointment Is That It Should Have Been 2 Hours Long And There Should Have Been More Challenges In The End.

I Was Impressed By Ken And Tina. They Made It Competitive Right To The End. I Imagine If They Were Racing Against Anyone Other Than Nick And Starr Throughout - They Would Have Won More And The Million At The End. The Only Loser I Think Was Ken When He Decided He Wanted To Stay With Tina. Good Grief.

And Once Again It Was The Cab Drivers Who Made A Huge Impact On This Race. I Wonder - If CBS Supplied The Drivers In Each Country - Would It Take That Much Away From The Race Itself? I Suppose That Is Half The Fun - But Not Quite Fair And It Would Level The Playing Field If It Were The Teams Individual Efforts That Impacted The Race - Not The Bumbling Cabbies.

But The Best Part - Seeing Nick In His Camo Top. Yummmmm. Worst Part - Not Seeing Dallas.

Ultimately it was the cab and the cam battery that did Dallas in. In an interview the cab he was in got lost and had to go back to the pitstop where they got directions, and at the same time Dallas had to replace the battery in his microphone which is why he took off the fanny pack and forgot to put it back on.

This finale was intense and delicious. I thought for the hour they had a lot of hard challenges, especially the numbered board and the 150 clue boxes. Here is where Nick kept his cool and caught and passed Tina and Ken. Of course they would not have been behind had it not been for their taxi driver - as was the case with the fratboys - their bad luck never ended did it?

So the final pitstop had everyone except Toni and Dallas who could not get their passports back in time to make the finale .

This show proves consistently why it is the Emmy winner and why the ratings were up this season.

Great show Phil, and you are far better a host than Probst.

I'd just like to say ....Nick's arms were HOT when he was climbing up that tree!

He didn't take it off, the producers did

Great finale. Was happy Nick and Starr won. Thought that this was a intense episode. Seemed Ken and Tina were right on their asses the whole way.

Ultimately, though, he still left it behind. Dallas said that he actually was in three taxis, and that the editing misrepresented what happened. “They made it look like the taxi with my pack drove away and I just watched it and waved goodbye. That was far from the case,” Dallas said.

As he explained to Reality TV World, Dallas “got out and flagged down a new taxi, got a new taxi and went in there for about 20-30 minutes and finally had them take me to somewhere I knew. When I got there that’s when I realized I didn’t have the bag with me and my passport and my money was long gone. They made it look like [the cab] was right there and I could run after it but that’s not true. If it was anywhere near there I would’ve caught up to it, I don’t care if it was three miles down the road I woulda ran after it. But I had no chance of finding it,” he said.
Goes to show how editing is so manipulative. The editing tried to convey how dumb Dallas was by not chasing the same taxi that he supposedly got out of for his passport. Oh well, editing is supposed to make a more interesting "story" than what really happens, at the cost of the truth.

He's NOT gay?!?

In a May 2007 article from Broadway World, Nick talks about being straight in the theatre community. He said in junior and high school, kids made fun of him for dancing and acting after schooll while they played sports...although, he says he did wrestle and run cross country while in high school. He looks at the subject differently now and goes on to talk about the advantages of being a straight actor while on Broadway:

Spangler's attitude about the subject has substantially changed. According to the actor, "Guys don't realize the perks to being a heterosexual in musical theater and that's one of the major facets to the song Ryan is writing. Look, the ratio in the business is ten girls to every guy and then it's ten gay guys to every straight guy. Do the math and you realize that the world is your oyster! Because so many guys are gay, the women get so comfortable with them that they forget you're the straight one so they're very open with their bodies and there's physical contact and stuff. I've enjoyed it!" He said all this while a impish grin danced across his face

I know that i'm joining the discussion a bit late but that's what happens when you live overseas....we tend to get things a bit later than most. I actually have yet to see the final episode but it seems obvious that Nick and Starr are the winners.
I was watching the episode where they are pelted by powdered dye and was left thinking that the guy that smears it on Nick's face might just be with the production team of TAR. I attached a few pics...take a look and see if you think the same......BTW, i think that the guy that does it seems pretty hot too.

Maybe but he wasn't the only one who was pelted. Tina and Kelly/Christy were too. Besides, Starr had a way easy task there
