no...it's not nice boomer. that's why it's effective. i save it for those i truly hate, since they're not here in boston and i can't beat em up for real. i often wonder how, both in real life and on JUB, i'm friends with really sweet guys like you and elvin and lost and etc. cause we're tempermentally very different. nevertheless, i meant it. that person is a truly horrible human being.

as for you new siggie, is it a tribute to a fallen hero?? if you want, i'll send you a link to a conspiracy theory about why capt. america was killed...

of course. It's what I do too... on the rare occasion that I'm just a spectator and not right in there being the entertainment.

... and I never got a chance to post my next comment, which was going to be "you're so vain, you probly think this thread is about you."

I don't know. Telling people to kill themselves isn't one of the nicest things to hear.

I've had it directed at me before, and I just think it's down right terrible... It also reminds me of a play based on a true story abotu some poor gay kid, who went to a site that was online for advice (it wasn't a legit site it was actual people he knew) he then killed himself on his webcam in front of a whole bunch of people. Of course the play was a school play and that part was censored out, and it was all happy and "HA! I got you" even though in reality that's not what happened.

Gee, and to think that at my school they used to do Our Town...

If I post the popcorn icon, it is a comment on how much I am enjoying the thread !

Did anyone see it right before it was deleted? If so, what was said? I got into a bitch-fight on there and we called each other out like men but they didn't delete the whole thread, just those particular posts. Did someone else name names?

Someone did indeed name names, but I don't remember exactly what was said... it did involve fecal matter.

It was just a really nasty post and I was shocked to read it, I was planning to post but it was moved/deleted so I was kind of like awww ruined!

Ag... maybe it was a little high-school, but I think it was therapeutic for some people, and perhaps if everyone read what was in there and thought "does s/he mean me?" and wondered a bit about the merits of changing themselves and then did or didn't... I'm not sure that's a bad thing.

I didn't see the last few exchanges, though, so if there was an almighty spat, I missed it.

But isn't it great that everyone knows one another a little better now? It does seem as though some folks are as solemn as midwest methodist parsons and tended to completely miss the spirit of the original thread. Others, whether on-topic or slightly off, posted some wonderfully insightful and wacky stuff....

I tried to use waybackmachine.org to see if I could find and captures of the tread, but nothing has been saved for 2007. It was cool though to see how JUB has changed over the years. :)

i was the one that started the poll and movement that resulted in the site owners getting rid of the anonymous comments on the old rep system

i believe it was something like 80 percent to 20 percent who didnt like anonymous comments

having said that i also posted one post in the thread that this thread is about, knowing that it would not be a popular thing to do

i dont know if it was a therapeutic thread...

i do know that as soon as i saw it i knew it would not be alive for long... that it lived for three days amazed me.

i honestly thought that it would be gone in a few hours at best

ehh

i say stuff directly or i send a pm... anonymous is not really my style

i dont know what the dust up was about, but i can tell you that every comment could have been about anyone of us at various times in our JUb existance

we are all humans... complex and conflicted
