There were music blogs where you could download free music. Just type in the album you wanted for free into a search engine. Martin got an army of lawyers and had them all taken down.

While it was nice to be able to pilfer change from already overstuffed pockets, I do acknowledge that these sites took money from new and fledgling artists but I don't care. Go to Bandcamp.

What other kind of band could be such a big... ok... huge? crowd-tickler.

Did you have to go and mention her?:cry: Back in the day I had their first album Parachutes on repeat all day and went to see them at the little UCSD amphitheater. Chris was adorable and a half. I was all geared up to make my move. THEN that hollywood harpie traipsed in and snatched him up. Because if you're a hollywood dingleberry you can have anyone who takes your passing fancy. It was all downhill from there.

Their music is THE SUCK since then.

Coldplay is OK, but I wouldn't pay to see or hear them.

I AM paying to see Panic! at the Disco, Michelle Branch, Jukebox the Ghost, and Travis between now and Thanksgiving. Now you know my tastes.

Did you see the AMA performance? It was like a car crash I couldn't turn away from. I HAD to see Chris Martin trying to dance alongside a group of androgynous korean pop stars milking (so ironically it made alanis morisette jealous) hip hop machismo culture for everything it's worth. the dancing was far more awkward than i ever could've anticipated.

If I did this correctly it's timestamped for the most cringeworthy part so you don't have to watch the whole thing

20 years ago I would listen to Parachutes continuously . I liked their music as a teen ...I also enjoyed A rush of blood to the head but after that ...I lost interest in them
Nowadays they're so overrrated and their music sucks .....I think their last cool track I heard by them was in 2011 ...

I wouldn't pay to see them live either

Sadly, discernment has gone the way of the dodo. I'm thinking we should scrap most of the current set of humans.

They made a great album, a good album, became lazy millionaires and lost all drive or spark of creativity, just said F it, let's shovel out insipid pap and ride this gravy train into retirement.
