Re: Coldplay achieves its first N°1 song

i'm not a CP fan, don't think i've ever really listened to any of their stuff but, i'm really liking this new song. heard snippets in an ad for their album and it's one of those songs that gets in your head and stays there.

Re: Coldplay achieves its first N°1 song

It's really the only song by them that I've ever liked that much. I heard the rest of the album... I'm very happy about iTunes allowing you to just download the songs you like... rest of the album sounds like Coldplay.

Re: Coldplay achieves its first N°1 song

Is the whole album worth it? I have the new single but don't know if I wanna spend the money for the rest of the album.

Re: Coldplay achieves its first N°1 song

I loved the whole album! especially lost and 42. I think its worth every penny. also Viva and Violet are great.

There's a reason why they are called Coldplay.

At best, 3. They're highly overrated and the only people more pretentious than the band themselves are their fans.

I like 'em. To me, they're easy to listen to.

-5. Gash marchants of the worst kind.

And while we're here, I don't merit bands on how comercialy succesful they are. Numer whatever in the charts mean less than fuck all.

I've made it abundtly clear i do not listen to radio, but coldplay lead guy was on 60 min's & i loved him just via that segment

have you read interviews or seen them? they aren't pretentious guys, really.

i like their music and while it's usually pretty simply, that doesn't make them talentless. and they write decent songs consistently and were smart enough as a band to know that they needed to hire Eno (and 3 more producers) for their new album.

Coldplay equals 9 with Parachute being a brilliant classic and then slightly going down hill from there, but still good. Martin is a genius.

Better than U2 at the moment. U2 is an 8 overall.

Killers first album was great, second OK, third absolutely horrible. They get a 5.

All were once my favorite bands, but it seems to be impossible for pop rock bands these days to stay innovative and remain fresh.

You're right about that!

Love The Killers! :D

I think you maybe misunderstood me there dude...I destest, loath despise and generaly wanna stab the insipid, useless gash-merchants that are the killers. They are beyond awful. "Are we human? Or are we dancer?" What the fuck!? Litteraly the worst lyric ever written in anything pretaining to be "real" music. Plus, they're all mormons, so they need to die aff, sharpish.

^ actually, i think only Brandon, the lead singer, is a Mormon. the rest of the band might be but i don't think they've spoken about it.

:rotflmao:

EwanSF, don't hold back on your true feelings there!

I never do hen ;)

The mormon factor is incidental to be honest. I hate them because thier music is derivitive shite. Them/Flowers, bein' LDS cunts is just the cherry on the funny-smellin' cake.

I'm all for keyboard based bands, but...

meh

There's just not a lot of 'there' there...

A 3 from me....

They do have catchy tunes. I really won't judge them on vocal talent as most mainstream artists are mediocre in terms of vocal abilities, now-a-days. I personally like them; unfortunately, I cannot say where I would rank them numerically. I'm sorry to disappoint.
