Attention The Baths: Yea or Nay?

I'm back three days from Panama and Costa Rica and I went to the baths in San Jose (CR) and Panama City.

They were both kind of terrible, but it's my hobby to check out cruise bars and baths and such while on vacation.

Do you ever go, or do you hate them and stay away, or possibly hate them and go anyway?

I go from time to time, but find them problematic. how about you?

I prefer gay saunas to bars for a multitude of reasons: the guys in bars and discos are older, reek of cigarettes and alcohol, and are horribly out of shape: either they are fat, or skinny but without any muscle. The guys in saunas tend to be in a better shape, otherwise they wouldn't dare to walk around naked, and they are younger, since some saunas in Europe have a maximum age. Usually forty, but one near me is maximum 30 on saturday and 25 on sunday. I've been going there since I was 19.

Also, the guys are cleaner than in bars. They come straight out of the shower, and usually don't have long hair and thick beards, which I see everywhere else but consider unkempt.

I go to just about every cruise bar in Amsterdam (all four of them that are left). I used to love Argos, but it closed.

I'm a bit weary of them at the moment, so I've taken to cruising in the one park that's legal instead.

I prefer bars, as stated above, you are clothed, and the atmosphere is much more friendly. So, no baths for me.
Sorry, just my preference.

But unless it's a cruise bar there isn't any sex.

Were the baths better in the past, or were they always the drab, semi-desperate places they are today?

The movie The Ritz had a crusty enough person behind the desk at the entrance, but otherwise it seems much more socially lively than any baths I've ever been to so far. Have you anything to say about that?

I used to go to this bathhouse in Vancouver BC called F212. Super weird place. Everybody is really quiet and way too friendly. It was super annoying having strangers trying to rub and touch you or just wouldn't leave you alone or take no for an answer. The hot tub was nice...

Actually? ... I thought it was the same idea as like a nude beach. I love hot tubs and I think it's super cool a bunch of guys can get naked in a public hot tub . But yeah, to many horny guys trying to sex. Only went a handful of times to that place.

I just go to bars while on vacation. I've never been to a bath house or to a bar that has a public sex area, and personally do not want to go to one but if others want to go that's fine.
