The Best Thing

Well, it's a new day with a new best thing:

About a year ago, I applied for a job in productions with the local newspaper. I was the second choice, with the job going to an old friend of the manager. The guy who got the job was a former coworker of mine who I never really got on with. I was really disappointed and I thought I deserved the job.

I just got home to find an email from the manager. The other guy is leaving town and they want to hire me. It's a great job for me, only a few days a week so I can keep my job at the bookstore. I'm not sure what it pays, but I'm sure it's better than retail. Yay.
 
I'd been feeling rather uncomfortable, full and tight in the gut all day, then as soon as I got home from work I had to go to the loo and unload several really huge, fat poops. They just slipped out cleanly with minimal effort and I felt really great afterwards!

That was the best thing that happened to me today. ;)

But I have a second date tonight with Mr. Wonderful. My place. ;)
 
I've just eaten some of the best durian I've ever had - fresh, rich and wonderful.

(It helps that I'm currently on a business trip in Malaysia.)

I woke up this morning with by boyfriend beside me.

He had a short day at school yesterday, so I drove up, and made us a nice dinner (sauteed tomatoes, steamed broccoli, Spanish rice and tenderloin sauteed with mushrooms, celery and garlic) while he made Sangria. It was great to see him during the middle of the week, as we live about 90 minutes apart, and being together midweek was really special.
