The CE&P sound track on a day of 9/11 heroes

Just a footnote:

Last evening, we sat an watched Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close while sitting with a dying friend....Oh my.

It was the perfect way to spend 9/11 in 2012.

I loved Thomas Horn's performance. The whole film was such a great metaphor for the last 10 years of searching to find meaning out of all of this tragedy.

Yeah, while we were all "nostalgic" back here in the States, our National Guard was rolling through the streets of Baghdad within a year of 9/11/01 in Humvees, and Tanks listening to this at ear splitting levels:

Within four years of the 9/11 Anniversary we we listening to Enya:

After the deaths/drownings of nearly 2,000 Americans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and the largest mass exodus of the American population since perhaps the Civil War, let's not forget that event either.

AND since this is an election year, let's not forget which party was in power during both of those tragic events and how they responded to both.

I can think of nothing more patriotic in remembering the victims of 9/11 than by putting the memories to music, and REMEMBERING. ..|

But in the off chance that offended anyone's delicate patriotic sensibilities I'll offer up this song on behalf of those who still don't get it:

"Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" First Trailer - YouTube

The trailer alone brought a tear to my eye.

But like many Americans, in the hours, days, and weeks that immediately followed that Tuesday on September 11, 2001, what inspired me the most was the indomitable spirit of America, and Americans.

Those who hate us go after our symbols; those things that physically identify us as "American."

What they can't touch, what they can't get to, is our Spirit.

We are a patchwork quilt of the entire World, and all of the hopes and dreams within every individual who came here to make a better life for themselves, their families, and for others.

Which is why, as an American, the best way for me to remember those who perished on 9/11/01 is to stand against those within America who wish to divide us for political or financial gain.

al Queda, and other "terrorist" organizations don't have shit on Corporate America, and our current politic.
