We got our questionnaire today. It took all of five minutes (we had to try to remember how old we are) to fill it out. I thought they were going to ask more questions. I was looking forward to it, now I'm disappointed.
 
Yeah, I filled it out in 5 minutes. I like surveys so I was hoping there would be a little more too. But what the heck, I did my civic and legal requirement. It's better than jury duty.
 
In Canada they do a short form for everyone but then a random sampling of households gets a long form. Maybe the same thing there?
 
I'm thinking of not filling it out. Because the more people that don't fill it out means they have to hire more temporary workers and that pays better than the few low life dead end part time no benefit service jobs that are available locally in this wrecked west coast Florida economy.
 
These census people always make a big to-do about filling out this damn thing, and I've never gotten one. :confused:

I'm registered to vote and vote in every election. The damn county can always find me for jury duty, so I don't know what I have to do to get on the list for these census forms. :lol:

I dont think they are entitled to all that info and its a invasion of privacy. Look at vid and then think about the questions asked in vid and questionier.

They are only getting people count in mine thats it.
 
that is the lamest census ever! what happened to the really long drawn out 100 question thing that actually asked questions that may be useful to someone in someway.
 
I opened it,skimmed over it and chucked it in the ''shred pile'' I don't think I'll be filling it out,and I got a little pissed that there was a statement on the envelope saying I have a legal requirement to do so.What is that? A threat?

I found the whole thing a bit invasive.They don't need my name,and it's none of their business what the race of the people that may or may not live with me..

Also,in this age of the patriot act,I don't believe much of anything is confidential anymore.All they have to say whenever they need to piss on civil liberties is that ''it's for our protection..

I may take another look at it after I wake up tommorow, but as of right now, it's getting shredded.

I'm not from the US, but I have a friend there who has very strong opinions about the census and showed me some video that explained that the government has no right asking you anything else.

Yeah this is the vid I also posted, I did it wrong but can still see. This guy makes a lot of sence in how he questions the government and there need to side step the answers.
 
dudes, all they did was ask us our names and address. it's public information. they didnt ask how much money we make, what our ss#'s were, nothing that anyone with half a brain could find out anyway...

That's why I also refuse to submit my Federal and State Income taxes. I can't believe that the Government not only wants to know my name, address and color of my skin, BUT it also wants to know how much money I made last year! And I have to list my Social Security number?

Sure, I'll give that information to the cable company, the phone company, the bank, and the credit card company.

But the Federal Government? Hell no!

"An invasion of my privacy actually" doesn't even begin to describe the outrage.

The Founding Fathers who gave us Americans the most beautiful gift of all - The Constitution - would be outraged that such an invasion of privacy as the US Census exists!

I say leave the form blank. That will make sure that the Feds stay out of your business!

Don't throw it in the trash. Put it in the mail so the government has to pay the postage. That will teach them to be so nosy!
 
The IRS already has all this info and more. I don't see what the big deal is. #-o
