Re: Anyone a Cher fan?

They played "If I Could Turn Back Time" on one of our Video shows on Sunday morning.

Is that the best film-clip for any song ever? I'm voting YES!

Re: Cher Stars

I think Stars was one of the best albums Cher ever recorded (the other being Cher's Heart of Stone).Stars was produced by the great Jimmy Webb back in 1975. I remember seeing Cher performing "Geronimo's Cadillac" on her short- lived solo TV show in a "Half Breed" American Indian outfit by Bob Macke singing in front of a large blowup picture of the Stars Album Cover. Cher was trying to become a serious rock singer and tried to move away from the pop stuff she had recorded with Sonny and solo. Unfortunately Stars didnt sell that well, but for me its one of her best. My favorites from Stars are: "Love Enough","Just This One Time", "Love Hurts", and "Stars". Two other Cher albums I wish Warner Brothers would release on Cd are "I'd Rather Believe in You"(the follow up album to "Stars" produced in 1976) and the album Cher recorded with her 2nd husband Greg Allman of the Allman Brothers Band-"Allman and Women-Two The Hard Way". I have all 3 orginal LPs but I wish Warners wud bring them out on CD....BTW DarkEmoBoi, you have great taste in Music!

Re: Cher Stars

I am a huge Cher fan and have ALL her albums.Stars is a great album.
My favorites are her older work not out yet on cd.
Stars.
Cherished.
Allman and Woman. Two the hard way.
Bittersweet white light.
And Cher-I'd rather believe in you.
I wish they would get their act together and get these great albums released on cd.:=D::=D::=D::=D:

Re: Cher Gypsies Tramps And Thieves

I love this stage of Cher's career. She was considered a has-been when Gypsies revived her career. She went on to have two other No. 1 songs in the Seventies, Half-Breed and Dark Lady.

Re: Cher Gypsies Tramps And Thieves

I love this album, too. I think, however, the S&C show made them popular again and the Cher album and S&C's "All I Ever Need Is You" album followed to capitalize on the popularity of their show.

"Touch and Go," I'm in the Middle," "I Hate to Sleep Alone," and "One Honest Man" aren't too shabby either. Forgot "Fire and Rain." Awesome still!

Re: Cher Gypsies Tramps And Thieves

Speaking of Cher, did you know that she is the only artist to have a number 1 hit in 5 different decades?

Re: Happy Birthday CHER

She's 62 again?

Re: Happy Birthday CHER

Lol.

Although not a fan, I would like to wish her a Happy Birthday(however old she may be).

Re: Happy Birthday CHER

We can turn back time a little. Here she is in 1965 with Sonny. Unpolished. No make up. Original nose. And you could see that she had "something." As a toddler, I fell in love with them. I guess (based on their clothes and the simplicity of the song) they were like the "future Muppets" to little kids in the pre-Sesame Street world.

Here she is at the peak of her TV fame in the 70's. Polished. Comfortable. Confident. And still in love.

And here she is in an uncomfortable moment, post-divorce. Letterman and Sonny convinced her to sing the song with Sonny for the last time without warning. 21 years ago in 1987.

The body language is interesting. She is totally ambushed and not happy, but as she sings she lets her guard down and has a little fun. You can see that she has emotionally separated herself for a new career and a new life, but she let herself briefly turn back time.

Happy Birthday honey. The beat goes on.

Re: Happy Birthday CHER

Anyway, here are more videos from the 1970s:

Dark Lady (1974):

Re: Cher as Catwoman?!?!?!?!?

I heard it this morning on the radio and from ew.com. I guess Cher would play Catwoman in her "twilight years" or something. I dunno...

Re: Cher as Catwoman?!?!?!?!?

When I first heard that , I was like WTF. But you know the more I think about it... it would be a totally new take on catwoman- "a vamp in her twilight years"... I think it would be kind of an interesting twist.

Re: Cher as Catwoman?!?!?!?!?

I don't believe this for a second, but if it is true, it would be interesting to see. Nolan took both The Joker and Two-Face in very new and interesting directions. I'd love to see his take on Catwoman.

Same here. I think it would be an interesting twist. I'm not a Cher fan, but she is an Oscar winner after all.

Re: Cher as Catwoman?!?!?!?!?
