The Christina Aguilera Mega-thread

It's kinda breathtaking that she doesn't care. I mean, this time you can really see she's chilling because she hasn't even tried to promote the song that much, I mean besides the interviews she's got nothing. The only announced performance that we know of is the AMAs almost 2 months after the song was released. So if Lotus tanks at least I'll know that they didn't even try. If they were trying hard and it was still falling THEN I would be worried.
 
The most recent ballad to chart in the top 10 would actually be Adele's Skyfall. It was #8 for the week of 10/20/2012.

Prior to that Katy Perry's Wide Awake, which is classified as a power ballad, and prior to that probably Adele's Set Fire to the Rain.

Yeah and I don't think he's had much luck with this album. I mean I love Shakira but Get Started was lame...and I didn't even know he had released 2 other singles already. Hopefully the track with Xtina will be a hit.

Yea I don't get it... It dropped from #58 to #59 this week. Then again 3 songs did debut above it so go figure, it's doing just about the same as its done for the past 2-3 weeks.
 
She has the Mariah problem where she wears dresses and outfits that are smaller than her actual size and it makes her look too big. I mean they are not fat but they look so bad when they dress like that.

I also don't get their obsession with showing their breasts to everyone all the time. It's like okay, quick shout out to your breasts because clearly they didn't get enough attention as a child. Oh Mimi and Xtina, your chests are so big, just like your talents... Oh Mimi and Xtina, your chests are so deep, just like your fans' love for your work. Are you happy? Put those things away.
 
To be honest I'm kind of not surprised that it's not #1, but it didn't expect it to be so low on the charts. It's not my favorite from Christina at all, probably not even in my top 10 from her. :(

My favorite song of the year is Lights though (okay it was released last year but only gained mass popularity this year)

I'm actually enjoying Christina's style for this era. A LOT. She's as free and careless as she was when she released Stripped, and I love that because it's honest. I love her laid back, I-don't-give-a-fuck-this-is-me outfits even more than the Back To Basics era, even though style-wise you can probably say she looked conventionally "prettier" back then, I though it was fucking boring!! I mean I liked it but I remember thinking "oh well, Christina matured and grew up, now she looks like an adult classy woman...which is fine but...YAWN!" I mean she's a POPSTAR! Not a fashion journalist or anything. Popstars get a free pass to wear crazy shit.

And that's my problem with Mariah's style, it's not the fact that she dresses 2 sizes too small as you guys say (which I don't think it's true by the way for either Mariah nor Christina), it's the fact that she looks like she takes herself way too fucking seriously wearing stupid dresses all the time. Plus she basically ALWAYS looks the same.

And about Christina's weight, as I said before I love the fact that she's embracing it. I don't think I had seen any famous woman with a little more weight on her flaunt it like Xtina is doing. And I looove how her ass looks. Watch yourselves Kim and J.Lo!
 
Guys Simone has been her stylist for years now, yes even for the Back to Basics and Bionic era. So Christina is deliberately trying to look like this. Let her have fun, jeez. You have 2 options: Jump on the fun bandwagon or keep complaining for the rest of the Lotus era.

I can't agree.

She has like no sense of fashion these days. It's like, I can't even picture anyone who would open their wardrobe and think "hmm okay, so I have to walk a carpet somewhere where there will be press and stuff, let me wear this outfit"

It's almost as if whoever chooses her outfits is blind half the time.

I understand your point...but I don't know, maybe she just wants to make people talk? If that's her intention she's definitely doing a good job lol.
