The Christina Aguilera Mega-thread

In other news, Christina just tweeted Brit Brit:

Hey @BritneySpears Congrats on Femme Fatale release! Can't wait to see what you bring in the next video. xo - Xtina

Aww so cute. Remember those days when everyone just wanted them to hate each other? I'm so happy those days are over.

I always thought britney vs. Xtina was dumb as hell, but they both sound so fake. It's like "look everyone we don't hate each other!". I'm sure they dont actually hate each other but c'mon. But i guess it works b/c everyone is talking about it.

Linda Perry gives a very interesting interview, talks about Christina among other things:

Question: I really feel like the public has been too hard on Christina Aguilera this past year. Do you think it’s a case of society wanting to tare someone down only to build them back up because the public loves a comeback story?

Answer: Christina’s always had the bad rap. So, it’s not like this is happening all of a sudden… she’s always had it. That’s something between Christina, her fans, the public, and the energy of the world. That’s something only Christina and the energy can figure out what’s going on there. But, as far as I’ve known her, everybody’s always given her a hard time. She’s a different little bird. You know, she’s not really out a lot and when she does go out, people are gonna grab things. Like, is she running around as much as Britney Spears was a few years ago? No, she’s isn’t. But, when they catch her they catch her in whatever state she is in. I don’t know why the press is so hard on her right now. I think Christina’s awesome and a very talented person. She definitely doesn’t care — and that is a fact. You know how some people say “I don’t care” and they really do? I can tell you that Christina really doesn’t care…. because she learned very early on that critics are critics, people will say whatever they want and it’s up to her to decide what is the truth and what is not. She stands true to what she knows.

Like, she told me “I know this Bionic record is not going to be a big record because I’m gonna try and do some different things and I don’t know what’s gonna happen but this is what I wanna do…” She knew that before she recorded one thing. She knew that about Back to Basics, too. Her record company came to her and said “you’re gonna sell way more many records if you make this a single album. Let’s get rid of the double record.” And she said, “No, this is how I hear it. I hear one record being like this and the other record being like this.” Everybody warned her that it’s not going to sell as much but she didn’t care because she comes up with creative ideas and stands behind them as an artist. It’s not all about selling a bazillion records to her. She just wants to be able to stand behind it. In the end she did say to me, “Maybe I did release the Bionic record too soon. Oh well. Now, I wanna make a rock record!” I was like “Oh, God!” She’s gonna take everybody for a ride. So, ultimately, why she gets put down I don’t know. You’ll never know, I’ll never know, only Christina will ever figure that out and get the answer.

Christina Aguilera: I "Can Laugh" About Personal Life:

Christina Aguilera is the first one to admit that she's had a rocky few months.

The singer -- who, within one month's time, flubbed the National Anthem during the Super Bowl, collapsed onstage at the Grammy Awards and was jailed for public intoxication -- says she's ready to turn things around.

"In light of the past year, there have been obvious setbacks," she told UsMagazine.com on Monday. "I've gone through a really hard divorce, and anyone who has gone through a divorce will speak about how hard the journey is from start to finish."

"It's a life-uprooting time and there have been hiccups along the way that unfortunately the whole world gets to witness and judge," she added.

The 30-year-old pop star -- and mom to 3-year-old Max, her son with ex Jordan Bratman -- said her recent slip-ups have been a blessing in disguise.

"I can laugh about my own hiccups and my own experiences in life because I'm getting through it," Aguilera said. "But I get to share these experiences with these people and I get to say not every performance day is going to be a great day."

"Sometimes you could be having the worst day of your life and you have to get up on that stage and you have to give to your fans in a way that they would never know the difference," she continued. "You have to lose yourself in that moment and you have to be so involved. Take yourself out of your own headspace or use whatever you're going through and put it into the passion of your song."

Aguilera said she plans to use her recent experiences to mentor contestants on NBC's The Voice, where she'll coach aspiring singers alongside Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green.

"There have been things that have happened on stage that any performer can absolutely relate to and I'm so happy that I get to share these moments with them in such an intimate environment," she explained.

"I'm actually revealing a lot about myself during this show -- a side of myself that I think a lot of people have never seen before, that only my closest friends see when the cameras go off," Aguilera said. "I just wanted to approach this show very openly. I'm human, too, and people make mistakes and go through things in life and I'm definitely taking that into the show."

Thanks to everyone for all the recent news and links. Her voice gives me goosebumps every time! :) Love her.

Christina Aguilera first celeb to be honoured on 'Gay Walk of Fame'

Christina Aguilera has become the first celebrity to be inducted into the Hollywood's 'Gay Walk of Fame'.

The Burlesque star arrived Wednesday at The Abbey in West Hollywood accompanied by her boyfriend Matt Rutler.

Aguilera was bursting out of her lace basque which showed off her ample cleavage and teamed the lingerie with a fifties-style suspender belt and finished the look off with a feather and lace negligée and a pair of fishnet tights.

The 'Gay Walk of Fame' has been added as part of a revamp of the restaurant and bar.

"We're proud of Christina, who's always supported causes important to (gay) people," the Daily Mail quoted Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center spokesperson Stevie St John as telling RadarOnline.

"We applaud her for speaking out in favour of equality and working to support the community," he added.
