Chapter 651 B
Jake wanted to know who called. I told him it was Will wanting to know how tonight went. “Well, in the future, when Garth get’s done doing his thing, we’ll be able to invite him over to watch reruns,” Jake chided. I shook my head, chuckling.
“So, Lucky, this Marvin guy you had on your arm at the pool party. You two seemed kind of close. Are you two an item?” Cal asked him, making me wonder why. Even Lucky was a little surprised at the question.
“I love him, if that’s what you’re asking,” Marvin replied. “He spends the weekends with me over here. I’m trying to get him to move in with me, but he comes from a very religious family and doesn’t quite know how to tell them he’s gay. We’re working on that,” Lucky replied.
“Shit, who cares today?” Cal replied.
“Hey, he respects his family and loves them very much. If he needs time, I’m patient and will give him all the time he needs,” Lucky replied.
“You’d think with a hot looking guy like you, he’d be worried that someone else would scoop you up and you’d forget about him. If I was him, I’d tell the parents how it is then move in with you,” Cal replied. “And again, how do you know that he doesn’t have a big dicked boyfriend from his hometown he’s fucking? Maybe he’s getting the best of two different worlds and isn’t ready to give that up yet,” Cal added. I almost saw Lucky get mad. That kind of pissed me off.
“Cal, you’re way out of line there,” I snapped. Lucky looked grateful for my reply.
“Marvin is the most honest, decent, loving guy you’d ever want to meet, Cal. Just because you don’t know any of those guys doesn’t mean they aren’t there. I trust him with my life. We love each other. I know he unequivocally loves me, and I don’t doubt his love for a second,” Lucky told Cal in no uncertain terms. Cal smiled.
“Want me to check him out for you? You just never know what you might find out,” Cal commented.
“No, and make that a ‘fuck no’, Cal. Shame on you for ever bringing that up. I know Marvin like I know myself. He’s good people. Now knock it off, because you’re way out of line, like Josh says,” Lucky shot back, disturbed that Cal would even bring up questioning Marvin’s faithfulness to him.
“Why would you even question love between two wonderful guys you don’t even know?” I asked Cal.
“Just my investigative nature. You never really know who you’re dealing with, Josh. My motto is trust no one until you’ve verified everything. Look at Kenny. Clay, and the rest of us, I might add, are playing him. I played one guy for over a year. Strange thing is, and it still haunts me today, is he still loves me despite the fact that I played him all that time,” Cal replied.
“Doesn’t that kind of bother you, Cal? I mean, to earn a guy’s total love and then deceive him has to leave some scars somewhere in your heart, I would think. If it didn’t, I wouldn’t think you’d be human,” I told him. Cal was speechless for a moment.
“It’s just a job, Josh. You do your job and the chips fall where they fall,” Cal replied.
“But you devoted a year to him, sleeping in his bed, pretending to love him, earning his trust, sharing each other’s bodies and physical love. I would think an experience like that, where none of it mattered, would leave you callused and hard. You’d almost have to be cold hearted to be able to do something like that,” I told him. He looked at me straight in the eyes.
“It’s just my job, Josh. You can’t really take it personal or you fail,” he told us. I shook my head.
“You tell me that, but I don’t think you can be human and it not affect you in some kind of way,” I told him. “Tell me this, have you ever personally loved another person, male or female?” I asked. He chuckled.
“With all the fake love I’ve had to give, I really can’t tell what’s real and what isn’t anymore. That’s the bad part. It does leave you a little cold, I have to admit,” Cal replied.
“How do you recover from something like that?” I asked. He looked at me like I was crazy.
“I’m not sure you ever can, Josh. I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I’ll take what I can get when I can get it, and then move on,” he replied.
“You know that’s kind of pathetically sad, Cal. You should quit and find another job if you can’t really live your life,” I suggested.
“What, and miss all the fun taking down perps and meeting great guys like yourselves? I could be sitting at home, drinking beer every night, with a dog at my side and bored to tears. Just think about the fun we had tonight staking out Kenny. There’s where I get my excitement, taking down the bad guys. I guess you could say that excitement replaces the emptiness of my personal life and not having someone exclusive to love. Besides, I don’t know if I could be content with just one mate. Maybe I’m better off and anyone that might choose to care about me, if I don’t love just one person, because I’m not sure it could ever last,” Cal confessed. I shook my head.
“I’d say that’s kind of a lonely life, if you ask me, but then, I guess partners aren’t for everyone, so you might be right. I really feel sorry for you though,” I replied. Cal told me not to, because he was happy living the life he was living. I had to believe that was a total lie, a lie he’d learn to regret someday.
‘Well, it’s been fun, boys, but I’m on duty tomorrow morning at 6:00 and don’t want to disappoint Neal in the locker room. I need to flash him some cock tomorrow if I get a chance,” Lucky joked, making the ones that knew how he was teasing Neal, laugh. Cal had no idea, nor did we care to fill him in. Lucky got dressed and then I gave him a big hug and quick kiss, thanking him again for helping us out in our unofficial stakeout. “Let me know how the surveillance goes and when we need to be in the parking lot ready to jump in and help,” Lucky requested.
“Sure will, as I’m sure you wouldn’t want to miss the fun,” I chided. He smiled and kissed me on my forehead. I patted him on his tight ass as he left.
“Did you hear anything about Jules in Chicago this evening?” I asked Cal.
“On my way back to the hotel to get briefed by the Chicago bureau. It’s still in progress from what I’ve heard. Don’t worry, there is an agent close by him at all times. They’re as close to Jules as we were to Clay tonight,” he said, then winked at me. I rolled my eyes, hoping they were paying more attention to Jules than we were to Clay for the time we had our own little fun. Cal got dressed and left, giving me a hug before he left, which surprised me.
“Maybe he does have some sort of semblance of a heart after all,” I commented, after he left. Jake said he wasn’t so sure. Garth and Dylan had gone to bed. Jake and I jumped in the shower before going to bed. I needed to get Cal’s ass and Lucky’s sperm off my dick before turning in and having sex with Jake. I was trying to decided whether to tell Jake what happened or not, feeling a l little ashamed I let something like that happen. I was sure Lucky felt the same way, after Cal tried to cast doubt on Marvin in front of Lucky. That pissed me off in a way.
As Jake and I got naked into bed, I told him we needed to call Clay one more time to see if he was okay. I put him on speaker. “Hey, sexy newsman, Jake and I want to know if you’re safe and in bed with the doors locked?” I asked him. Clay chuckled.
“Just made sure all the windows were locked, door locked and then crawled into bed, guys. I wish I was in bed with the two of you, as that would be more wonderful than I could imagine right now,” Clay told us, making us chuckle.
“Anytime you feel the need to jump in bed with us, come on over and we’ll take care of you. You know we love you for sure,” I told him.
“Oh, and the thought of that makes me feel wonderful, guys. Even though the sex was hot, it was weird with Kenny tonight. I feel a little strange. I don’t fear him, at least I don’t think I do, but he’s not the loving type like you guys are. I want to do this, hoping I can find out the answers to questions we need to know, but it’s not like having sex with someone you love, if you know what I mean,” Clay told us.
“We totally understand, Clay. That’s why Jake and I needed to call you to tell you goodnight, as the last person you talk to before falling asleep has to be someone that loves you to take away thoughts of Kenny for sure,” I told him.
“You don’t know how much that means to me, Josh. I feel so close to you guys. You just can’t make that happen with someone you don’t love and trust,” Clay replied.
“You’ve got that right, so anytime you want to call this off, you call it off. You don’t have to do this, and no one expects you to. You can report on the story after it breaks and not create the story using your body. I admire you for your courage, but I don’t want to see you get hurt emotionally or physically going through with this,” I told him.
“Awh, thanks for caring about me, guys. You two are true friends, and I love you both. I’ll talk to you tomorrow,” he said. Jake and I told him to have sweet dreams then ended the call. I put my phone on the charger, then wrapped my arms around him and ground my bare dick into his.
