Chapter 664 - D
We were just starting to head down when Jake held me back as if to talk to me about something. “Josh, what’s wrong? You’re not yourself tonight and you mentioned you didn’t have a great day, so what’s up?” he asked. I shook my head as if I was disgusted. “Babe, tell me what’s up,” he urged, then grabbed and hugged me.
“I’m sorry, Jake. I just wasn’t myself after lunch with all the shit we have going on, not to mention the state swim meet this Friday on top of everything else. I just let a few things get to me, that’s all,” I explained, as he held me in his arms.
“You know you can tell me anything. Get it off your chest. Did I do something to upset you at all?” he asked. I looked at him like he was crazy.
“Oh, Jake, no. Not at all. You are the one bright light in my life, sweetheart. I’m so fortunate to have you by my side. I couldn’t do any of this by myself without you beside me. It has nothing to do with you. I just let all this shit distract me today when we were practicing for the competition. Truth of the matter is that both Zach and Ethan beat me today. I came in third. Can you believe it, THIRD! I can’t remember the last time that’s ever happened. I mean, I’m glad they had fantastic times, but mine should have been fantastic also, and I choked. I know I’ll do well on Friday, but it shocked me that all this shit we carry around on our shoulders can affect me that way, Jake. It’s unnerving and humiliating. I have no one to be pissed at but myself, as I let it all get to me,” I told him, as he continued to hug me.
“You have to learn to let some of this go. Will coming over to Uni was supposed to lighten the load on you especially. He’s doing a great job, but you get too tied up emotionally caring about so many of our guys that it’s a heavy weight on your mind and worse yet, your heart, Josh. You care too much,” Jake told me. I laid my head on his shoulder.
“I can’t help it. That’s what I do,” I replied. I don’t know how to handle it any other way. I hate it when things don’t go right, and we have to resort to crazy tactics to try to right the world. I wish I’d never heard of Weinstein, Seward, Hastings, Dickerson, Spence, Simon and Kenny. Did we leave anyone out?” I asked, not sure if I had all the rotten guys named or not.
“Maybe Aikens, but he was more Clay’s problem, not yours,” Jake replied, giving me a slight smile. I kissed him.
“We need to go to work,” I told him, letting him go. He looked me in the eyes, seriously.
“I love you more than life itself, Josh. I don’t want you to have a nervous breakdown or anything like that. I don’t want you to fail at your swim meet either, but if you do, I’ll still be here to love you just as much as I always have and always will, which I can’t see how that could be intensified more than it already is. I just want you to be happy,” he told me. I hugged him tightly again.
“How could I not with you at my side?” I asked him. Jake hugged me and picked me up off my feet, kissing me passionately.
“Okay, you’re giving me a boner and we need to go to work,” I warned him, making him chuckle. With that, we headed downstairs.
I left Jake to go talk to Lucky to let him know the stakeout was on for tomorrow night again. Lucky was smiling when he saw me. “What’s so funny?” I asked him.
“You should have seen what I did to Neal in the station locker room this afternoon. I sometimes shower after work if I’m coming here for Ladies’ Night. I stripped naked and threw my towel over my shoulders then walked by him as he was sitting on a bench in the locker room. I swear my dick passed within an inch of his nose and I guarantee you he could smell the sweat off my balls. I acted like I didn’t even notice anything when I walked slowly past him, but I could see him in the mirror behind me. He was all excited, pointing me out to Conner making the OMG sounds silently. Conner just shook his head at Neal. I got him good that time. I thought for sure he’d come into the showers and maybe shower off also, but maybe he thought he couldn’t control himself,” Lucky told me, chuckling.
“You do love to torment him, Lucky. Poor Neal. You have that boy in heat,” I replied, chuckling. Lucky said it was so much fun.
“Next time, I’ll stop and ask him something with my dick practically in his face,” Lucky joked.
"You’re going to give poor Neal a heart attack if you keep that up. He’s too young for that,” I warned. Lucky just chuckled. “Hey, we have another stakeout for tomorrow night. Kenny has invited himself over to Clay’s again it seems. I already informed Cal as to what was coming down tomorrow night.”
“Any chance of fucking Cal’s ass again tomorrow night. That was kind of nice, for the spur of the moment type thing. Nice ass too,” Lucky replied.
“That might be a once and done type of thing, unless you’re considering dating him or something,” I mentioned.
“Me? I’m perfectly happy with Marvin. You know that, Josh,” Lucky replied. I smiled.
“Thought you were, but you have to admit, Cal did have a sweet ass, and he is easy on the eyes,” I teased. Lucky chuckled.
“Amen to that. I wouldn’t kick him out of bed, but then we still don’t know who he really is now, do we? I mean, is he gay or just gay to play his games and get information? I have to say, he liked our dicks up his ass that night for sure,” Lucky commented, making me smile.
“I have to believe he’s more on our team that he’d like for us to think,” I suggested to Lucky who grinned.
“Oh, most definitely. With my limited experience and knowledge in the art of loving men, you can tell when an ass loves your dick and that ass loved my dick for sure. Not sure about yours,” he chided. I rolled my eyes at him.
“Oh, he loved my dick as much as he loved yours. I think he’d almost like any dick, if the truth were known,” I replied. Just then Conner and Neal came over to us.
“So what are you guys laughing about?” Neal asked. Lucky and I burst out laughing at his question. We weren’t quite sure how to answer him. Lucky looked to me for an answer.
“We were laughing about Cal wanting to help us for Ladies’ Night,” I quicky said. “We’re thinking he’s more into picking up women than helping out.”
“He sure is a looker for sure,” Neal replied. Conner rolled his eyes. “You should be able to fix him up with one of your many women you date, Lucky,” Neal added, making Lucky laugh again, with me trying to hold back.
“Not sure any of the women I date are in his league, Neal,” Lucky replied.
“Oh, you could get any woman you wanted, I’m sure,” Neal replied. Conner just shook his head.
“Why would you even think that?” Lucky asked him, getting serious, all of a sudden. Neal seemed a little embarrassed.
“Well, I mean, you are all man and put together in all the right places, the kind of man women fall all over themselves to attract,” Neal replied.
“Are you sure you aren’t talking about you,” Conner jokingly asked Neal. Neal really go embarrassed then.
“Why, Neal, that’s just so sweet,” Lucky told him then hugged him. I’m sure Neal popped a boner with that hug. I was trying to hold back the laughing. Conner just shook his head.
“You two haven’t made any more trips to the No Tell Motel, have you?” Conner asked. Lucky and I looked at each other and smiled.
“Nope, just that one time. That was all,” I told Conner, who suspiciously looked at Lucky who remained stoic. I did neglect to tell him that the rendezvous had moved to Clay’s apartment and we had that under surveillance.
“Good. Leave that to the experts, like that Cal guy. Let him get his nuts shot off trying to track down Kenny and his crew. But if you happen to stumble on some useful information then, by all means, give us a call so we can jump on it, and put all these pricks behind bars where they belong forever,” Conner stated. I told him I wished that would happen sooner than later, as the whole investigation thing was giving me stomach acid. Conner shook his head. “That’s why I’m telling you to let it go, Josh. You guys don’t have to do what you’re doing. You’re playing with fire here. Leave that to us and other law enforcement agencies. I can’t stand the thought of you, or any of your friends, getting hurt,” Conner replied.
“Really? Does that mean you love me then?” I asked. Conner smiled and shook his head.
“Let’s just say I really care about you as a person and personal friend. We’ve been through a lot together and you’ve kind of grown on me. I just don’t want to see you, or any of your friends, get hurt, Josh. Just be careful, and call me if anything comes up that concerns you,” he replied.
“You can’t tell me you love me?” I asked, suggestively. That made Conner nervous.
“Let’s just say I respect you and care about you as much as I can. If I go any further, I could get myself in trouble,” Conner replied to my disappointed face. I gave him a hug. “Oh, good grief. You are going to get me in trouble,” Conner told me.
“I want to get in trouble too,” Neal piped in. Conner gave him the eye again. “What, if you’re going to step over the line, I want to be with you,” Near added. Conner shook his head.
“See what you started,” Conner jokingly complained.
“Hey, if you guys are going to get in trouble, I want to be with you when you do,” Lucky chided.
