Chapter 822 – A Lot To Catch Up On in Uni
As I walked to my office across the CNB parking lot, I felt comfortable knowing that Garth was very much on top of everything regarding IT in the company. I needed to elevate his stature in the company to reward him for his remarkable talent and his performance in utilizing his talent. Dylan assured me he was ours for life as he loved everything about our business fraternity of sorts, but he was definitely one of our top performers having helped us tremendously in our undercover investigation of the drug and criminal ring in Uni as well as the technical aspects of the dormitory, the office building, our entire business network and having just filled me in on the aviation sector of our business. I was tremendously proud of him. He was a sweet guy on top of it all, a little cocky at times, but then he had a right to be as grod as he was. Dylan adored him, having first met Garth as a client of his when he was hooking on the streets. Garth had shown him kindness and helped him out during that time. Garth was caring of Dylan the person, not Dylan the hooker. Garth definitely had character, and we needed to more greatly recognize his value to SE for all that he’d done. I was going to make a note of that to bring up at our next senior management meeting, albeit lunch on Monday.
I decided I didn’t need to leave for Key West until Monday afternoon sometime. I sent Dale a text telling him to plan on a 1:00 departure for Monday. We’d start the senior management meeting earlier on Monday so I could still get to the airport by 1:00. It dawned on me, other than Dale and Cam, I would be the only other one going from here on Monday. The thought crossed my mind to call Mal to see if he wanted to go as he had such a great time the last time he hitched a ride down there with me. I thought about that for a minute then realized with two new loves down there already, it was going to be awkward to handle the two of them and not create a problem. I needed Jasper and Greg to spend time together with me being the mediator at first then they could be on their own, if they would do that with me still there. I wasn’t so sure how that might work out, but I’d just have to play it by ear.
I stopped on the war room level first on my way up to my office to see if Cal might happen to be there. Just by luck he was, giving me a big hug and a squeeze of my ass, telling me how much he missed me lately. I asked him how things were going with the case.
“Not much change, but tell the Rowen and Kenny to keep an eye out as word has it everyone on the wrong side is trying to find Kenny these days. I don’t think it’s to reward him for his silence either. It’s more like to maintain his silence permanently. I know you have him hidden away and even the Bureau doesn’t know where he is, but things have a way of being found out, so just tell them to keep an eye out for anything suspicious, and if they detect anything to let you know and you let me know. He’s one of the biggest keys to our whole prosecution, and we can’t let anything happen to him,” Cal informed me. I told him, not only that, but he was deeply cared about by several people now with the feeling he was one of us. “Yeh, right, but we can’t have anything happen to him period as we desperately need him for the prosecution,” Cal told me rather emphatically. I asked him if he was able to work out a deal with the prosecutors yet. “They know they have to do something, but the less talked about it at this time, and the more they realize just how valuable his testimony can be, the better deal we’ll be able to make. I’m not pushing it at the moment. It’s on the shelf, you might say. Plus, if I bring it up, they might decide they want him locally to brief more often, which we don’t want to happen. We all know you can produce him when we need him. That’s all they need to know now. If they need to talk to him face to face, they might have to fly to say, Ft. Lauderdale to interview him as we don’t need to know his exact living location. The less they know about that, the better,” Cal briefed me. That made sense to conduct an interview in a neutral location.
“How’s the new Chief of Police faring through all this? Conner still sane?” I asked. Cal chuckled.
“He’s doing great, and has the respect of all his men, even some that are somewhat homophobic. Somehow he’s managed to keep his guys focused on the job at hand and not the sexual preferences of others. It’s a tough job to do sometimes, but he seems to be doing well with it so far. He’s fair and backs his men so they respect him for that. I should tell him to get hold of you as he was just saying it’d been awhile since he’d seen you. Maybe he’ll show up at Gay Night tonight. Speaking of Gay Night, do you need me for tending bar any more as Forest and I were kind of thinking of a romantic encounter of sorts if you don’t,” Cal said with a devious smile. I rolled my eyes.
“And just what does this romantic encounter shape up to be?” I asked curiously. Cal smiled.
“More of what we do every night almost and that’s fuck until our dicks and balls want to fall off,” he chided. I told him in that case, I could use his help at the bar tonight as that wasn’t anything special. He looked disappointed. “Okay, we’re going to dinner to celebrate the time we’ve been together, kind of like an anniversary of sorts, you might say. Then we’re going back to my place and fuck our dicks and balls off. Maybe you and Jake might like to join us after you get done with Gay Night,” he suggested.
“Gees, Cal, you don’t invite friends to an orgy after you celebrate an anniversary. WTF?” I replied. He laughed, saying he was just kidding, although I wondered. “So are things getting more serious between the two of you?” I asked, anxious in a way to know.
“Well, I kind of think he’d love to have you first, but he’s willing to settle for me,” Cal replied. I told him he was full of shit. “Honestly, I think we both feel like we are in love, Josh. I’m being dead serious about that, all kidding aside, if you really want to know. I don’t know, we just click for some reason. It’s not really just the sex, although that is extremely amazing, but we just love being with one another. Hell, I don’t know what happened to me. I have yet to figure that out. I mean spending all that time undercover pretending I loved my partner that was really my perp I was trying to arrest, found me actually loving the dude, and then putting him in prison. Then I start to wonder just who I am. Am I straight or could I possibly be gay after what happened? While I was trying to figure that out, damn, if I don’t meet you and shit, I find out I love that dick of yours in my ass just as much as I liked my lover I sent to prison. Then, through you, there are others and it just got worse. Then, I end up with Forest and, fuck, I’m hooked for good. No turning back now. We just connect in so many ways, and I’m not just talking dicks and ass either. When it comes to love these days, I’m never sure about anything, but it sure as hell seems like this is real. It deserves the effort to really find out. I’ve never been happier and Forest says the same. I wouldn’t admit that or tell another living soul, but it seems like that’s the case, unless you go after him for some reason, then I’m sure I’m history,” he said chuckling, making me laugh.
“Jake is the love of my life and will always be, Cal. No chance of me running after anyone other than Jake, so you have no worries, not like you would anyway with that ass and cock of yours. It is pretty nice,” I told him making his face light up.
“Damn, coming from someone like you, that’s tremendous,” Cal chided. I gave him a hug and a quick kiss. “Wow, I’ll never get over the great moments we had naked together,” he added. Again I chuckled. “Hey that’s not to say we still can’t have them. I know Forest is game and Jake probably is so we could have our own little orgy sometime. Think about that now. It could be a lot of fun,” Cal chided.
“You concentrate on the love you have for Forest as that’s what’s important to both of you right now. I think it’s great, actually. Both of you need one another, and I’m glad it worked out,” I assured him. He got a call, so I told him I’d see him later, but to give my congratulations to Forest at their dinner tonight. I got another quick hug then he was off.
I felt better after checking in with Cal, knowing the forces of evil were still locked up and all was quiet so far, although there seemed to be great interest in finding Kenny which we could never let happen until his official appearance was needed. I left Cal’s war room and went upstairs to my office. I passed by Jordan’s office, noticing he was here as I could hear two people talking. I dropped in to see if he still had was still unscathed after his discussion with Buzz. Swain was in his office with him, both of them dressed very casual in shorts and t-shirts this Saturday morning.
“There he is. I had a feeling you’d be in this morning,” Jordan greeted me, seemingly in good spirits.
“And how are you two homewreckers doing this morning?” I teased. They both looked at each other and chuckled.
“Hey, we both couldn’t be more grateful for what you’ve done for all of us, Josh. This whole thing couldn’t have turned out better than it did. We’re both so relieved. You were a major factor in resolving this, what could have been a messy situation full of hate and betrayal. Thanks to you, Hudson and Buzz are more than happy together and Swain and I can continue to be happy and content with our new found love,” Jordan commented with Swain backing him up.
