Chapter 851 - E
“Guys, I’ve go to run home quick as I left the Mom’s credit card. I forgot to bring it,” he told us, looking flustered, thinking how embarrassing it would be if he went to the register with all this food and didn’t have the means to pay for it. I pulled my credit card out of my wallet and flashed it at him. “Oh no. No, you’re not paying for all of this, Josh. No way, buddy,” he told me rather emphatically. I told him I was going to pay for the first round anyway, then the rest could go on his account. “That’s not right, Josh. You’ve already done way too much for me and my family. You can’t keep on doing this,” Bryce pleaded. I patted him on the back. I whispered in his ear, that friends were worth more than just for blow jobs, Bryce cracked up saying we’d both never forget what Stevie had told us. He was still chuckling as we finally kept on shopping.
“Josh, can you adopt me? I’m tired of being poor all the time. I like your style much better,” Stevie asked. Bryce and I chuckled.
“I’m sure you two could keep each other happy for sure with some of the things you like to do, but we won’t go into that,” Bryce told him.
When we got to the meat coolers, I asked the boys what their father liked, beef wise. Stevie was excited to tell me his dad used to love grilling out steaks. I loaded up some t-bones and some rib-eyes then some roasts. We got some pork roasts also along with pork chops that his mother loved. A lot of that would go into the freezer we thought. We even got ice cream which Stevie said he hadn’t had in ages. I got him some of his favorite snacks also even some that Mikey liked since we thought Stevie should host him some so Mikey’s mother wouldn’t have to claim Stevie on her family’s income tax.
We had three large buggies and had to get a fourth. The clerk at the checkout couldn’t believe the amount of groceries we were purchasing. She said that was the largest order she’d checked out in her entire career as a cashier in a grocery store. Even the manager came over to greet us and thank us. Stevie told the manager that he brought us here which delighted the manager to no end.
“Oh, Sir, I do believe Stevie’s family has an amount owed which we’d like to take care of today while we’re here plus purchase all of this. She won’t have to charge anything anymore either as she has a credit card with plenty of money on it, but I would appreciate if you don’t see her spending the kind of money you think she should be spending on groceries, you’d let me know and Bryce and I will start ordering for her, then and you can send it home with Stevie,” I told the manager who just about shit himself he said he never had a situation like this before, but was loving it.
“You know I usually don’t pay Stevie, just apply his pay to the balance the family owes. Now if you pay that off, I have to start paying the boy again,” the manager said, making Stevie light up. “That’s okay as he’s a good kid, and he deserves all the help he can get. This is a great family here. It’s a shame what happened to Walt. Damn shame,” he said. “Don’t know who you are, but I’m mighty glad to make your acquaintance,” he said extending his hand to shake mine. I told him I was a close friend of Bryce’s and we were here to help his family with a few things. The manager said he was thankful Bryce had such great friends. The manager, who happened to own the store, gave me his card and told me to call him if we ever needed anything that he could help us with. I gave him my card also. He asked me what Stoney Enterprises was. I told him we owned some small businesses and a couple of larger ones of which Bryce was now a part of. The owner thought Bryce was doing extremely well for not having started school just yet. Bryce said he was at the right place at the right time. Stevie told his boss we even owned airplanes. The owner was very impressed with that.
The owner let us pull the Explorer up to the door to load up the groceries since it was raining a little heavier now, We had the whole back end loaded and part of the backseat area, almost burying Stevie where he rode. The look on Bryce’s mom’s eyes when we returned was priceless. She broke down and cried.
“How did you pay for all of this, Bryce, as you left the card here with me?” she asked. Bryce nodded his head towards me. “Oh, Josh, you’ve done so much already. You can’t keep doing this,” she told me as she hugged me again. I told her it was my pleasure, and we had a blast doing it. She just shook her head in amazement. She was aghast as we unloaded all the groceries as she told us where to put stuff. We made several trips to the basement to put meat and other frozen items in the freezer downstairs. “I’ll have to remember the freezer is full now since it’s been so long since I’ve been down there to put things in it. There is just so much food now. It’s unbelievable,” she said shaking her head. Even Bryce’s dad couldn’t believe the amount of food we came home with. Stevie told them he was officially getting paid now because the balance at the store was paid off also. Bryce’s mom broke down and cried again. I told her we should have bought extra facial tissues.
“Hey, it looks like we might be here for a few more hours. Is there any place you all would like to go for dinner this evening as I don’t think we’ll be leaving before then?” I asked.
“Oh, Josh, that’s wonderful, but I can make something for us for dinner since you brought us all this food,” Bryce’s mom replied.
“No, this is your day. Working three jobs had to be horrible. Now you can do what you want. You want to get out of the house some and work some small part time job, but you are free from that horrible schedule you had. So, we need to celebrate. I’m sure Walt would like a ride in his new vehicle anyway, and we need to see that you can drive it okay before we leave,” I replied. Mom was totally blown away. She looked at Walt who said he was game as he’d like to get out of the house now that he had two strong boys to help him. “Good, where is a good steakhouse we can go and have a nice steak?” I asked. Walt said fast food would be plenty good as far as he was concerned. I told him he was having steak tonight as this night was special. They told me about a locally owned restaurant that specialized in steaks. I told them to make reservations for that place for the six of us. Stevie counted us all and reminded me there were only five of us. “Well, I thought since your birthday is right around the corner, you might want to invite Mikey to help celebrate your birthday,” I suggested. You’d have thought I just gave him a million dollars. Stevie leaped into my arms and gave me a huge hug, just like his older brother had many times. Then he ran off to tell Mikey.
It took us quite a while to put everything away. Then I told them there would be someone coming by next week to give us a price on enlarging their bedroom and putting in an on-suite bathroom with a shower even with the floor, with a built in seat, for getting Walt in and out of. Both of them cried at what I told them.
“You people have to stop crying. You’re making me sad doing that. This is all made possible by your son who loves you more than anything. You’re all going to be fine and live a good life thanks to Bryce. He’s going to do great things,” I told them. Bryce hugged me, telling me it was all me, and he was so blessed to have me as a friend. I told him I kind of thought it was the other way around, that I was blessed to have him as a friend and get to know his family.
Mikey showed up eventually. He was kind of skinny also, about Stevie’s height or a tad shorter, dirty blonde hair and bangs, unlike Bryce and Stevie’s dark hair, but was definitely on the cute side. He and Stevie were definitely on their way to being heartthrobs for either girls or dudes. I couldn’t help think, seeing these two suck each other off, would be super hot. He immediately gave me a hug instead of shaking my hand. “Stevie says you’re just the greatest friend ever,” he told me, then gave Bryce a hug also. “Bout time you got back here to see us. Stevie’s missed you so much,” Mikey told Bryce. Bryce said it was nice to be missed. “You got to fly down here in a private plane also? Wow, that had to be exciting. We’ve never even flown before,” he told us. Bryce said today was the first time he’d ever flown but it was fantastic.
“Maybe when we leave, we can take you guys up for a few minutes to give you a short ride so you can tell your friends you flew in a private aircraft. You have to ask your parents though, Mikey, as you’re not 18 so you’ll need their permission,” I told him. The boys got all excited.
“That would be so cool. See, I told you Josh was just the greatest. You need to see the new wheels he brought us also,” Stevie told him as they hurried out to look at the new Explorer. Mom told them not to get wet as it was still raining. It didn’t matter to them, however.
Bryce’s mother got his father changed to wear something nice to he steak house. I told her we didn’t have a change of clothes so I hoped we’d be okay. She said we all were fine. The six of us piled into the Explorer which had a third seat in it. Mikey and Stevie sat in the far back. Bryce and I sat in the middle, and his mom and dad sat up front. “I don’t know where anything is, Bryce. How do you shift this thing?” she asked, puzzled. Bryce pointed out the dial and got her going. “This is the most beautiful vehicle I’ve ever driven. It has leather seats and power everything. I just hope I can drive it,” his mother said.
