What? Me? Really?
Alrighty then.
This thread is inspired by the occasion of Halloween, but not limited to it by any means. I've been getting to be friends with a fellow finance analyst who is about 30 and Catholic enough to hang a crucifix over his name plate on the cubicle wall. He and his wife have three young girls and they send them to parochial school, even though my town has some very good public schools with all the engineers, scientists, and money here with the aerospace industry.
As we chatted about Halloween this week, he made a point to say how he was against it, but was allowing it so his girls would live in the real world. I shared that it's their call, but I think it particularly important for the dress-up and imagination aspects of the day, especially the scary stuff, not in spite of it. It's good for children to treat scary things as play and to role play. We didn't have any friction about it.
And, because I do love costumes, including just great costumes in stage and cinema, I want to have a regular thread where we post pics of our finds and favorites. The video below is a YouTube version (so I can link it here) that I first saw on 9gag, but JUB blocks 9gag links for videos.
It is of a very young Christoph Waltz, performing a new year's song for a children's program back in the late 1970's when he was just in his early 20's. He's so professional, but the costume is everything. Enjoy.
