The man charged with the fatal mass shooting at a Colorado gay bar last month was locked behind bars for a 2021 kidnapping ... but a judge later tossed out the case and released him, possibly leading to the massacre, according to new court documents.

First some background ... in June 2021, Anderson Aldrich allegedly held his grandparents at gunpoint inside their Colorado Springs home after he became irate upon learning they were moving to Florida because he was making a bomb in the basement. But, his grandparents managed to flee and call 911.

A SWAT team arrested Aldrich after a brief standoff. Investigators recovered Aldrich's homemade bombs and firearms for a planned terrorist attack. He was charged with menacing, kidnapping and crime of violence.

Two months later, Judge Robin Chittum expressed concerns over Aldrich stockpiling weapons and explosives during a court proceeding, according to legal docs obtained Friday by the AP.

A tale that's becoming redundant, domestic terrorist, lack of monitoring, people die. His own family warned the judge about him. Once again the soft hand of justice allows a murderer to run wild and free and kill with reckless abandon. I don't think I need to identify the usual culprits here-- white privilege, failure to recognize and prosecute domestic terrorism, et cetera.

Whyte priviledge....it is what we do.

No consequences...at least for us.

The tmz article said that the case was thrown out when his grandparents stopped cooperating with the law.

More members of the ever powerful Mormon cult, I suppose.

How much would it have cost the county to intercept this guy, evaluate him and get him court ordered help? Probably too much. I'll bet there's a cap on how many times a judge can pass this kind of sentence.

The law, the courts and cops are around to punish crime, not prevent it. To prevent crime, one must pray. Or something.

A liberal female judge based her decision on laws written by liberal legislators and the case history of past rulings by liberal jurists led to this. You and others who have posted decrying her action would likely have voted for her had you the opportunity. Likewise the legislators and the other judges whose decisions are part of a chain of events and liberal cultural attitudes that led to this. You reap what you sow. Race had nothing to do with it. I could post dozens of news stories about killings and other crimes by young black men stupidly released from custody by liberal judges both black and white. Again, you reap what you sow.

Although I lean pretty far left where most issues are concerned, this is why I don't exactly consider myself a true liberal. If someone ends a person's life or even fucks up their day, then there should be consequences, no matter what color skin they have. It killed me to cast several republican votes last November, but I've lived most of my life in NYC and for the first time since the 80's I feel increasingly vulnerable everytime I step outside. We haven't had a republican mayor in 21 years and it shows. I'm trying to get out of here permanently before I get old because crimes against senior citizens are soaring.

That's insanity, you can get off scott free with domestic terrorism simply because the victims don't cooperate? So it's like... the bomb threat never happened? Dear sweet baby jesus help us all. ](*,) that sets a wild precedent. even if victims (of any violent crime) want to file charges, if the state can't offer protection this sets a dangerous precedent. a little witness intimidation and BOOM you're scott free, of anything up to and including terrorist acts?

That's a can of worms you'd best leave unopened, which you insist once we get to a certain point in American history. Judicial leniency isn't a theory, it's proven. With lots of data and history (and common sense-- absolute power and all that jazz). We've heard this song before: "White American men are far too perfect and our golden discernment makes judicial bias impossible, if not offensive to even be suggested."

I won't bother posting the data about racial disparities in sentencing or policing because facts are mere hurdles towards the finish line of white supremacy.

A recent example:

So which side are we landing on today, "the law enforcement and judicial systems in America are a shining example that sets the standard for the world" or "we need reform?" Cuz if you're on the "reform" side I'll see you at the next march brother. :gogirl:

Do you really think that these people give a fuck about a few dead homosexuals?

Immediately after the shooting I was nervous about going on social media, not for my own sake but knowing LGBT especially the youth were about to get pummeled by "this is god's judgment" comments and think-pieces.

I’ve actually been seeing some LGBT backlash on Tumblr the last month that I’ve never seen before.
