The Cure

A modest one. Head on the Door is my favorite, which doesn't seem to be anyone else's. :)

I love them. I really would like to see them live someday. They'll be on tour in the spring.

Anyway, my favorites from them are Disintegration (typical), and Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me.

Yep, Love em', Disintergration is awesome, i also love kiss me, kiss me, kiss me.

The head in the door is really good too!

I like them, anyone know how long they have been around?

My favorite is mixed up. The songs are longer and great while having sex.

First album was Seventeen Seconds, which came out in 1980.

I'm not happy that they pushed both their new album and tour back, but at least Robert was honest about it all. "Not ready yet."

The Cure are GOD! Glad so many newer bands look to them for inspiration. My favorite album is Head On The Door but all of them are great. Their latest self-titled album had some excellent songs. It's great that they can still put out music that is as fresh and relevent as most alt radio stuff out there.

I wasn't too wowed by the self titled.

Hopefully they change directions with the new album.

I've been listenning to Head on the Door lately.

The Cure have been my favourite band since 1982 [when I was at Art College in Dundee, Scotland].

I bought tickets on Friday for their concert in Rotterdam on March 18th 2008 [now sold out]. I've lost count how many times I've seen them. Seeing them again on the 4Tour World Tour 2007-08 will be most enjoyable.

Here's a new track which they played at the Download Festival 2007 recently. It sounds rather Wish album IMHO. It'll be on the new double album, which will be out next year.

41 and still in to The Cure. Strange seeing as I've never found Robert Smith in any way attractive. But the music is sublime. When will this madness stop??? :-)

The Cure - "Please Project"

The Cure are one of my favorite bands, nice to see a thread on them. Hard to pick a fav album but I listen to "The Head on the Door","Pornography", "Faith", "Japanese Whispers"(not really considered a studio album), and "The Top" the most out of all the albums. Amazing band.

The Cure started out in 1977 as Easy Cure and by 1979 were known as The Cure. Their first single was called "Killing An Arab" [released in 1979 & based on a short story by Albert Camus and nothing to do with anything post 9/11]. Their 1st studio album was Three Imaginery Boys [released in 1979] and not 17 Seconds [released in 1980] as mentioned earlier in this thread.

Here's a curious unreleased track from 1997 for you. It did mutate into the song called "Spilt Milk".

The head on the door is one of my favorites too! So you're not alone. I also love and adore, "Kiss me, Kiss me, Kiss Me and Disintergration as well. When I'm feeling lonely I listen to that CD a lot.
