The Dark Knight

I know there are many threads about the movie, but I thought I would start another for those who have seen the movie to discuss it. I saw it tonight at a preview screening, and it is fucking awesome. I think it went even above my expectations and I don't remember when that last happened for a film. I won't say any spoilers , but say do FUCKING SEE IT, and the preview screening was so worth it.

I saw it yesterday and loved it. Heath Ledger should at least, be nominated for an Oscar, if not win one

Wow...a real hot movie...Heath Ledger was fantastic and cool as the Joker. Well balanced action movie with gripping drama. Only thing is the lady in question looks too much like Kristen Dunst from the Spiderman movies. There were some hot guys in supporting and cameo roles...

Just came from the theater and all I can say is: Wow! Wow! Wow!

Forget any Batman you have seen so far, and be prepare for a movie with the intensity and character development like the ones shown in Scorsese's "The departed", Michael Mann's "Heat", Curtis Hanson's "L.A. Confidential" or Sidney Lumet's "Serpico".

I'm not sure if the regular Batman fan will like "The Dark Knight", but for those who really appreciate cinema will be a feast from beginning to end.

Everybody is trying to get an Oscar nomination for Heath Ledger, and he sincerely deserves it. But there's much more in this movie than his Joker. Let me tell you that it won't surprise me a bit if Christopher Nolan and his brother Jonathan win an Oscar for their exceptional script.

Top performances, top script, top action sequences... Yes, this film deserves an A+ and the best of lucks at the box office.

I dont mean to be rude but, Watchmen is going to rape this movie..|

It was an amazing film and I am just in awe of Ledger's performance. To be honest, before seeing it, I figured all the praise he was receiving was somewhat tugged by his death, but I am in full appreciation of it. He executed it so well, and it is a role people shouldn't be quick to forget him taking up. I'm no judge, so I'm not gonna say he should win anything for it, but the man very much deserves a nod to say, "Bravo, that was well done."

Great movie all around ..| I wouldn't hesitate to see it.

i just got back from a midnight screening (with a full moon no less!) and am completely and utterly amazed.

a tightly written and very well executed script with solid and inspired direction... and the actor's performances? wow!

this is, imho the best comic book inspired film to date.

Been anticipating this movie for three damn years, ever since Gary Oldman flipped the joker card at the end of Batman Begins, and now it's 12 hours away for me, it better not disappoint! From what I hear, it won't :D

"The Dark Knight" was the best movie of the year by far. The script and acting were both top notch, the film was just amazing. Aaron Eckhart was great as Harvey Dent, and Christian Bale proves once again that he is the best actor to ever portray Batman onscreen. Last but certainly not least, Heath Ledger flat-out stole the show. His performance is without peer, very visceral and menacing, yet you cannot take your eyes off him. This is without a doubt the best Superhero movie I have ever seen. Yes, it's THAT good!

Just came from watching the movie. I absolutely loved it. Thank God they didn't drop the ball like they do for most sequels. Heath Ledger--my gosh, I was expecting him to be good but wow. I loved him. Everyone did a fantastic job. I gotta say, I much preferred Maggie Gyllenhaal to Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes. And I know Christian Bale looked hot as Bruce/Batman, but my heart was racing for Aaron Eckhart. Two thumbs way, way up. ..| ..|

Just saw it. I was blown away. It is not just another superhero movie. As was mentioned earlier, it really is a compelling crime drama ala The Departed or Heat.

It wasn't all CGI and special effects (although they are present) it was very character driven and felt very real.

It is one of the few films that truly is worthy of they hype it's been getting.

As for the Watchmen - I LOVE that graphic novel - if you haven't read it - don't wait for the movie - go get it - read it. Appreciate it as it was meant to be. It has been called the greatest comic book story of all time - I think that is another example of something that lives up to its hype. I could tell from the trailer that the movie will NOT live up to the source material. (if you've read it and you saw the trailer one look at Nite Owl is all you need to know)

Like I posted on another board, this film blows away the first one, and Ledger's interpretation of the Joker lived up to the hype.

However, I was most disappointed at yet another blown opportunity with Two Face. Here, one of the most intriguing characters in the Bat Man universe, is built up during the movie, only to have the last 30 minutes of the film, kicked into over-drive ... cramming becoming Two Face, going crazy, kidnapping the new Commissioner, and dying. All in a little over 30 minutes. It was a complete rush job. I thought they were supposed to carry him over to the next film? Guess not. Yet another wasted opportunity with Two Face, although I'll take this version any day over Tommy Lee Jones.

The makeup and effects were great with Two Face. The character was great. It was just execution of the character that came up short, in my view. They could have done so much more with him, had they kept him alive.

100% SPOILERS HERE

I was disappointed at first with the rushed Two Face too. I heard the original cut of the movie was three hours and I'd bet that a lot of what got cut was from the Two-Face portion.

However, his death leading to the outlaw Batman set up for the third movie is pitch perfect. And I am reminded that we saw Jim Gordon "die" earlier in the movie - so do we KNOW that Two Face is dead just because they said so?

On a side note: And I know I'm crazy but when Aaron Eckhart was lying in that hospital bed before he revealed his disfigurement. He was so vulnerable and sooo hot to me. I've never been more turned on by him.
