There is no need for a guy to ever buy a Porsche (unless, perhaps, he has serious inferiority issues to deal with).

Several years ago a guy I met in a pub tried to impress me by mentioning (several times during the course of the evening) that he drove a Porsche. Apparently I was supposed to be awed by this rather pathetic flaunting of his material goods as if, in some way or other, it would make up for the fact that he had zero personality and was, in fact, a shallow, vacuous, asshole.

I would've been far more impressed had he told that he had walked on the ice of a frozen Niagara Falls.


Apologies for the hijack, but note how swiftly I brought the topic back on track by gratuitously mentioning Niagara Falls in its frozen state.

You have to keep in mind that in 1911 the hydroelectric dams were already in use and the amount of water going over the falls is greatly reduced. If the water were at full pressure there is no way it would have frozen.

We live about 15 minutes from the falls and go as much as we can. It's the most beautiful thing about living in Western NY.
