Ray Hutchinson, lead singer for the Canadian band 'The Beau-Marks', passed away this week here in Peterborough after a long battle with COPD. The Beau-Marks were one of Canada's first Rock & Roll bands and the first record their music right here in Canada. Ray was 81.

He lost both legs and an arm in the war. Republicans impugned his patriotism by linking him to Osama bin Laden in an infamous TV spot.

Max Cleland, who lost both legs and an arm during the Vietnam War and later became a senator from Georgia, only to lose his seat after Republicans impugned his patriotism, died on Tuesday at his home in Atlanta. He was 79.

The cause was congestive heart failure, said Jason D. Meininger, a close friend.
