Mrs Schachter's family fled Austria to escape the Nazis in the 1930s and settled in New York. She and her husband assumed control of her father's furrier business and changed it to a store that specialized in bridal gowns.

The original store was in Brooklyn. They relocated to Chelsea (downtown Manhattan) after they converted the store to bridal gowns. The store is huge and has over 200 employees.It wasn't the one in Flushing, Queens?


I used to see him out at restaurants with women who he rented by the hour. He was definitely that old.Had no idea he was that old.
