I don't know that Hussey's acting career was very distinguished, but she will be immortal as Juliet. I've never seen any production as compelling as that one of the play. Zeferelli captured the perfect air of youth, naivete, the folly of Italian vendettas, and the art of Shakespeare. Truly a top 100 of all time greatest movies.

Unfortunately, neither she nor Romeo can be shown here due to their ages at the time of the filming.

In a thread on Reddit, Bamba's death is reported as a suicide, referring to his brother's comment on Instagram.

How very sad.
 
President Carter was a one-off. If he lies in state in Georgia, I will pay respects in person.

He was progressive, in the truest sense of the word, and a populist who was courageous enough to do unpopular things.

His administration has been ridiculed by other so-called progressives within the Democratic Party (the Kennedy faction) as well as all the Reaganites and recently, Herr Trump.

It is a small blessing that his funeral will precede the change of the White House, so that a sitting president may attend without controversy. I'm sure all will attend besides Trump, who may attend out of spite, but would be unwise, as he will alienate yet more of his own in Congress and in the goverment. The hour of a president's death is yet taboo to say anything from any proscenium of the state.

He should be remembered for his true democratic leadership, energy conservation, world peace, the defeat of Guinea Worm Disease, international voting observation, civil rights -- especially women's rights, and a separation of church and state. He upheld the treaty with Panama that even now President-elect Trump is attempting to renege on after the fact.

May he take his rest among those who are aptly lauded with "Well done, good and faithful servant," as he served the people and the nation, more than self.
