I came out to my mum today. It is something that I have wanted to do for a long time, but I just couldn't muster up the courage to do it. It feels strange, almost like it’s a dream, but finally, at the age of 24, I have told the one person who matters most to me in my life, that I am gay. My only regret is that I waited so long.

I would like to thank everyone here on JUB for inspiring me to accept myself, and whilst I still have a long way to go on my journey of self-acceptance, as of today, I am one step closer to my destination.
 
Great to hear that you have told today to your mom that you are gay. Congratulated!! I hope she reacted in a positive way. I hope this is a good step towards your final goal (= living as an open gay guy).
