Americans also don't spell BEHAVIOUR as I do - the "Canadian " way - just one of my personal quirks in how I spell. [Note to unloadonme: I actually use all four of the spellings center/centre, theater/theatre, and not always consistently.]
 
I spell the Canadian way also and my computer is set to Canadian English.
 
English probably has more "borrowed" words than any other language in the world, derived from various pronunciation methods and roots, and therefore has the most flexibility for wordplay.

[Dynk, does your "Canadian" setting have aluminum or aluminium? I haven't heard the latter since I was a kid. And it's only some words which I "spell Canadian." I've also been known to choose the spelling manoeuvres which, of course, is entirely a French version.]
