The End of McCain

DON'T ASK DON'T TELL is working? Tell that to all the NineOneOne survivors (who lost family, etc.), possibly because many of the people capable of translating pre-9/11 conversations and communications into English (from Arabic) were fired because they were gay.

And we now have the best military we have ever had? When we can't even win a war in Iraq though, in the 1940's, we were able to fight and win TWO massive theaters of World War II simultaneously?

Is this guy getting news from the Martians or something?

if you do a quick perusal of the forum you may notice republicans and their supporters are not good with facts

facts are things that get in the way of the agenda and need to be ignored for them

any strategy to avoid the facts is fair game

ehh

as i said six months ago....

mccain was always a no starter with NO chance in hell

i made a prediction a year ago

this race would come down to four candidates....

clinton and obama versus giulliani and rice

i was wrong on the rice prediction, but i nailed all the other aspects

if rice hadnt bailed she would probably be ahead of mccain at this point

Slightly off topic......

Would it be fair to say that whoever wins the Republican nomination will, and indeed must, have the backing of the religoius/conservative right?

Who of the likely Republican contenders is likely to receive this endorsement. I would think that maybe the blessing would not be given to divorcees, Mormons or others who may have transgressed against the laws of God, or given direct or indirect approval to what the religoius/conservative right would view as being immoral, e.g. homosexuality, abortion, same sex unions etc.

It's not a question of Republicans and their supporters being good with facts, it much more of how facts are dismissed or twisted buy most people in this forum unless they support the Democratic party or start the post with "I hate Bush"

It's the end of McCain because for years he has stood as the "Maverick" senator who made decisions on personal conscience rather than the Republican mantra. He has been quoted before to being a proponent of gay rights. Now, despite all the calls for the revoking of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," he is siding with a dying minority of bigots who have no right to devalue the sacrifice of homosexual soldiers. We're so close to seeing change in the military, and now an influencial Senator has gone back on his words to spit in the face of every Patriotic homosexual.

:=D:

I couldn't have said it better my self.

That's what I liked about John McCain back in 2000, and for several years into the Bush43 Presidency. McCain didn't tow the right-wing-party line. He gave the impression that he was moderate on a lot of issues.

In the lead up to '08 he appears to have caved, thus losing his "Maverick" status.

Now he appears to marching lock-step with the so called "conservatives" of the Republican Party, while attempting to kiss their asses.

Let's do the guy a favor and allow him to stay in the United States Senate until he's so old Trent Lott can say nice things about him like he did Strom Thurmond. ;)

what he said

Sondrith - you speaketh the truth

it's the 80:20 rule around here - the 20% of us that actually see both sides are dismissed because we don't start every sentence with xyz republican sucks

sad but true

and it's not the democratic party the 80 represents

it's the extreme wing - the fringe - the opposite of jerry falwell and his crew - just as bad - just as wrong

my guess is the 80 are gonna be ramping up - some reinforcements have arrived - LOL

btw - welcome

my 2 cents
nothing personal

chance

since you have entered this last post it is fair game and i will respond

i have traveled far and wide

europe, asia, the middle east, the americas, the mediteranean

and i can say that i have very rarely run across anyone so entirely dedicated to a cause as you are to american republicanism

i am not alone in my observation

it simply is the reality that anyone, even those that agree with you, can plainly see

just claim it and own what you are

your posts are the most partisan and instigating of this forum and they are dedicated to ONE cause and re interpret everything, even at the expense of truth, to further that cause

so save the 20 80 crap

no one is buying it
