Of course, they're claiming all of the buildings were being used by Hamas. There's different numbers on how many people Israel murdered in this latest round of building explosions but news video coming out of Gaza showed the body of a 2 year old child.

So the war reaches in Qatar...a state with a very muddy reputation.

Besides condemning the attack by Israel...watch them do nothing. all they have done over the years is fund Hamas, knowing that all Hamsa could achieve was harrying Israel.

And if they are truly with Hamas and the Palestinians, they would be working and seen to be working on productive solutions to shelter and support the people in Gaza.

There's an additional twist to the Israeli attack on Qatar: the Trump Administration had given Hamas an ultimatum to accept a cease-fire deal and release the remaining hostages.

Leaders from Hamas had gathered in Qatar, the country that has been negotiating the ceasefire agreement, to discuss whether to accept the ceasefire arrangement.

Israel targeted the discussion, effectively ending any hope of a ceasefire deal or an end to the hostage crisis.

Initial reports said that Netanyahu had received Trump's permission to target the meeting in Qatar. The latest reports seem to indicate that the White House was caught off guard by the attack on Qatar. There also seems to be confusion in the White House about what to do next.

This is what happens when you sideline experts in the State Department and you have a drunk performance artist running the Pentagon. This is what happens when Americans elect a President who thinks he knows more than he knows and who is intellectually unable to devise a coherent foreign policy.

Of course, Israel can count on US 'permission' to bomb whatever target it chooses.

As you note, this attack in Qatar was intended to remove the only people in Hamas that likely could negotiate a ceasefire or end to the hostage crisis.

At this point, it is clear that Israel has written off the last of the hostages and any chance of a ceasefire. All they want is to keep wasting US supplied munitions until they have literally silenced every last man, woman and child in Gaza as well any any journalists or aid group members who could serve as witnesses at the ICC.

Actually, let me retract some of the above.

I have been thinking about how TrumpCo. engaged with Iran on fake nuclear talks before Israel killed most of the high command that had gathered.

Now they have done it in Doha.

I think this may be their strategy. They aren't surprised. Or shocked.

If I were any country in the middle of a conflict with Israel, I would suggest that their leadership might want to avoid gathering anywhere that Israel can target to wipe them out.

Of note, the notification was between the military counterparts, not with the White House. If true, that is a snub to Trump. The Qataris have stated publicly that they were NOT given advance notification, either from Israel or the United States.

Keep in mind that the Qataris were not "hosting terrorists" as Israel claims. The Hamas mission was set up in Qatar at the request of the United States over a decade ago.

Also of note, Israel has attacked 6 countries in the past 72 hours: Lebanon, Palestine, Qatar, Syria, Tunisia, and Yemen.

I do not beleive that the WH did not know of this.

There's no one in the Pentagon, not even Hegseth that could give Israel 'permission'.

This smells like TrumpCo. trying to get some distance between the Oval Office and this attack.

And yeah...Israel, with the complicity of the US, knowing they are fully backed by Trump are once again expanding their war across the entire middle east, creating more instability and future backlash in kind.

Something doesn't ring true about the reportage about the call. It seems contrived and scripted for release to provide cover. Why would nayone even know about, release or leak
details of a call like this?

I suspect that Qatar knew full well that the WH signed off on this attack and is now threatening to exact a price...but mark my words, Qatar will also do nothing.

What is interesting about the events of the past few days in Doha is a growing rift between the Arab countries that don't do business with Israel and those countries that do. The countries that do business with Israel are part of the Abraham accords- Bahrain, Morocco, Saudia Arabia and UAE. It reflects the general lack of empathy for Palestine and a prioritization of money over human lives.
