That's not a crucifix. He's not Catholic.

Hate it all you like, but the cross in Christianity is not a symbol of the dead Jesus, but that of the belief in the living Christ.

Not the topic of the thread.

I didn't call it a crucifix, I said 'charm'.

As for 'on topic'; you could have, just as easily, hit the 'report' button, and asked for the post to be removed. But, you didn't. Enjoy your threads.

No, but you did say it ws about a dead Jesus. That is why Protestants do not use crucifixes, as it focuses on the crucifixion as opposeed to an empty cross, the symbol of the resurrection.

Different sects of religions have meaningfully different symbols. Mormons have no use for crosses in any form, for example. They find that aspect a point of shame, not pride.

As for reporting it, the post was to point out that not only were you choosing to inject sectarianism into a thread that is ostensibly free of religion, but you did so by misinterpreting and/or mischaracterizing a symbol of faith, intentionally. Hate speech remains hate speech, which is legal in the U.S., but still warrants rebuttal.

He was comment on the photo so it was on topic. Your post is actually the one that is off topic and derailing the thread.

It was a comment not about eyes, but about disliking religion, and phrased so as to make it a form of hate speech. It was clearly an injection. Calling it out didn't begin any off-topic, only marking it.

There are threads designated as sanctuaries on JUB for bashing religion. That's on-topic for them. You don't see religionists going into those threads to inject religion.

This thread was non-sectarian. It's not a battleground for religion or anti-religion views.

If members don't want to make further posts of remarkable eyes, then it's run its course, but it doesn't become a billboard for propaganda.

you can’t dictate what people post in a thread once you start it. You’ve derailed many threads. Just look at the last few pages of the post something funny thread. Nothing you posted was funny, you completely derailed the thread for pages. So take your own advice which you’re often to give here but never follow.
