I just saw this movie and I was really impressed. Back in 1998, I never paid it much attention, but it's quite good. It's directed by Robert Rodriquez who also directed "Sin City" (another fav of mine). The movie actually scared me. The special effects were top-notch for sure. But what is really special about the movie is that it has a very realistic message: we all want to be accepted, and not be outsiders; by becoming an alien from outerspace, you can become part of the "in" crowd. It's kind of clever that they set the movie it high school where that line-of-thinking is so appropriate. Also, it raises the question of whether people live their lives in mold. For instance, the cheerleader girl just goes on being the cheerleader because she's been doing that her whole life, or the "nerd" who just accepts being a "nerd" because that's how others have forced him to be his whol life. It really makes you think. By the way, Shawn Hatosy is to-die-for, so sexy baby. *|* Just google him if you want to see him. haha It'll be well worth it.

Are u serious? I wasn't impresed by it.

yeah I am very serious. haha I really enjoyed the movie because it made me think. That's how it effected me. Trust me, there are a lot of movies that critics claim are "so good" and "so thought-provoking," but in when I've seen them, they're just mediocre and don't have that much power to them. For the longest, I thought "The Faculty" was some cheesy movie with Usher in it. LOL And Usher has the smallest role ever, he has many four lines. :D

Have to agree, not very impressive but as long as it kept u entertained is all that matters.

It wasn't "the best" movie out there, but i liked it actually... daresay one of the better movies i've seen, but i love alot of movies based in high school, hahaa...

Yeah there's something nostalgic about watching them, because no matter what anyone says, what is seen in high school movies is what goes on in real-life high schools. That's where the directors writers of these movies get their material, they go to real high schools to see what's up. Also, a lot of high school movies suck and there's no depth whatsoever to them. Like "She's All That," that's one high school movie that is SOOOO not true to life. It disgusts me really. haha Movies like "Heathers" and "Mean Girls" (especially) capture that genuine high school feeling.

it was an okay movie, elijah and josh are always hot.

I LOVED this film! I saw it 5 times at the cinema. It never gets old.

"The Faculty" was the high-school remake of "The invasion of the body snatchers". It wasn't awful, of course, but the script was weak. It was all about CGI effects and one dimensional characters.

It would have been better with some male nudity and some guy on guy action. But it was still safe.
