I don't know. I do know, however, that I will not be watching anything on her channel. They put way too many commercials on there.

I was watching some movie (can't remember what it was called) and it gave us 5 minutes of the movie and 6-7 minutes of commercials. I watched my clock and made sure.

I always record anything I want to watch on their networks so I can zap the commercials.

The docu-series on The Judds was good and worth recording.

I agree, I think she is quite simply a despicable person on so many levels - but it's a very unpopular opinion to have, and you can barely express it without being accused of all manner of evil.

No sarcasm here, I used to watch certain episodes of Oprah with my mom before I tired of all the talkie-talks. So i'll miss it. And my mom? She'll watch what she started watching when Oprah was getting stale - Ellen.

I stopped watching her show years ago when she did one on men of different races. As you can probably expect, since we sometimes talk about it on this board, the issue of penis size and ethnicity came up. One of her panelists joked about Asian men, which I don't have to repeat here since it's practically a given, and Oprah and her predominant female audience just laughed. I wrote an e-mail to the show telling her I didn't appreciate that segment but since I'm not a member of her target demographic it probably doesn't matter. Needless to say I never got a response but I didn't expect any. After that, I lost respect for her and she never regained it back, regardless of what she's done. But that's just me.

I don't think I was being overly sensitive. I just thought it was rather bad taste. You'd never hear Oprah being insensitive toward other ethnic men but since Asian men are not her demographic it hardly sounded a glitch on anyone's radar. Sorry if I may have come off as too touchy but at the time when it was discussed it seemed inappropriate. BTW, the laughter was not a nervous kind; it was a 'what did you expect' laughter.

Now about Lisa Ling. This might be a bit off topic here but here it goes: I've always respected the black woman because more often than not, she defends and sticks up for the black man. Case in point, OJ Simpson. It would be nice if a prominent Asian woman would do something similar whenever someone riducules or insults Asian men. Don't get me wrong; I respect the Asian woman because of what she's had to endure in her home country and here. It would just be nice if she had our back once in a while. Sorry if I'm coming off as cynical; it's been a long day at work.

Bender, I don't know you. I don't know why you harbor such venom for someone who came from nothing, and who has built for herself great personal success, all the while caring about so many others. One can not like her personality, but to deny that she's done amazing and great things for so many other people would be like denying the impact you've made in the lives of those children you've touched through your efforts.

You SHOULD get some credit for the help you've offered, and you SHOULD be trumpeting it, not to seek a pat on the back, but to inspire others to do the same. Your reward is knowing those children will learn because of you; your legacy is that you can also encourage others to give of themselves as you have done as well.

Regardless of whether you want it or not, I applaud what you've done for those students; as a teacher, I understand the gift you've given them. And while you may not appreciate this, I must say, it was very Oprah of you to do so.

I see a person that's not hung up on Oprah so much that i'd call her a vile creature and continue to post in a thread about her to voice how much I despise her for little to no reason at all.

I can live with that, because - unlike you, apparently - when I don't like a talk show, I change the channel. I don't know who Eckhart Tolle' is - or any of these so-called new age quacks other than Dr. Phil, and - most importantly - I don't give two flying fucks. I don't dwell on it, I don't say evil things about the nature of the person, AND, I recognize all the good she has done.

So, I can say with certainty that - other than my mediocre looks and unshaven(for the moment) face - I love what I see.
