The first album you ever bought

Being such a huge music lover I'm always interested to know what the first record, album, CD, etc. a person bought was.

Mine was No Doubt's "Tragic Kingdom" when I was 9 and I still have and listen to that original copy. I played it zillions of times but not a single scratch on it.

So what was yours?

Alice Cooper Goes to Hell.

The first mp3 I downloaded (stole) was "New York Minute" by Don Henley.

Woodface - Crowded House. I was a massive Crowded fan back then...and still am.

My first record was a 45 - Smokey Robinson & the Miracles - Tears of a Clown

I am not 100% certain about the first album though

It is one of these (and I still have them)

It might have been The Turtles - Happy Together or The KInks - You Really Got Me

First time at Tower Records soon after that

Boz Scaggs - Slow Dancer
Johnny Bristol - Hang On In There Baby
Diana Ross and the Supremes - Anthology
LaBelle - Nightbirds
Minnie Riperton - Perfect Angel
Stevie Wonder - Fulfillingness First Finale

After that I was there every Friday night buying usually 3-6 albums every week.

The 1984 Footloose [original motion picture soundtrack] was my first music purchase.

(My childhood was in the 1970s and 1980s.)

Celine Dion - One Heart at Åhlens shopping mall in Stockholm, Sweden. ❤️
