no this thread isn't about the sauna after G-Lexington [AKA Alexis AKA JealousofFabulouslyghetto], Cormac and Raregirl, it's about funk MUSIC.

why didn't any of you useless hoes tell me kings of funk Prince and George Clinton collabed?

my cousins used to pick on me for listening to them, apparently this is "wypipo music" [to unsophisticated ears that can't hear the not-so-subtle blues, jazz and funk influence,

i wanted to post scar tissue but it's a ballad

OK....bluesy funk for starters.....The Kick Ass Ann Peebles and the song she wrote and recorded first. I bought this the first week I heard it...couldn't wait to get to Tower Records (well..that was every Friday)

Carribean Funk.....

Tom Browne and Toni Smith...would be in my own personal top five all timers...

Sound of Philly Funk...

Inner Funk.....Got My Mind Made Up...

I got a great 12" promo of this from when it first came out...can't find it on youtube though....

More Bay Area Funk..and one of the best bands of all time..completely underrated...

Brothers Johnson....

BT Express....I saw them when this song first came out..they were great....

Smooth Jazz Funk....one of my favorite all time LPs...Idris Mohammed....

One More....(BTW...when I would DJ..this was my favorite genre)....

Hamilton Bohannon and Caroline Crawford....Lets Start The Dance...I think I have 3 of 4 copies of this ....

east girl, all these [great] posts and you STILL haven't posted the queen of funk?

I was waitin' :D....savin' the best for last. This is one of my favorite genres so I could make this thread pages long. I have it it all on vinyl too still...

More Rap Funk...my favorite...though I loved/love Stevie's Original Version..this is a more than respectable and original cover....Coolio...
