my cousins used to pick on me for listening to them, apparently this is "wypipo music" [to unsophisticated ears that can't hear the not-so-subtle blues, jazz and funk influence,

OK....bluesy funk for starters.....The Kick Ass Ann Peebles and the song she wrote and recorded first. I bought this the first week I heard it...couldn't wait to get to Tower Records (well..that was every Friday)

I was waitin' :D....savin' the best for last. This is one of my favorite genres so I could make this thread pages long. I have it it all on vinyl too still...
 
More Rap Funk...my favorite...though I loved/love Stevie's Original Version..this is a more than respectable and original cover....Coolio...
