The Future Of Grocery Shopping?

Cool idea.....but flawed. Most people aren't going to want to stand there and scan multiple items if they are getting a lot of stuff. Also, doesn't Walmart already have online shopping/deliver to your house?

Didn't we have online shopping already? Where everything can be purchased with (a) click(s) on the digital DS without walking to the actual building?

My cousin was telling me about this a few weeks back. What if you don't like the apples they give you because they're bruised? You lose the sense of shopping for what you want, and put it in the hands of Home plus gods :(

Sometimes you have to wonder who is writing these voice-overs.

“Koreans are the second most hard working people in the world”

A better way of phrasing it would have been,

“Koreans are among the hardest working people in the world”

Nobody wants to be #2. #2 is just #1 loser to a lot of folks. So why highlight that point? You only use the actual # if they are #1. To say “second hardest working” immediately distracts from the attentive audience and makes them think, “Who could number 1 be?” then they start pondering that while ‘skimming’ the rest of the video. If they are watching with friends, they may even turn to each other and say, “Who do you think #1 is?” At that point, they are completely ignoring the video.

Business English: not just for an easy credit.

Anybody else bothered when you hear things like this?

It is basically interactive advertising. They will phase it out and replace it with a website like everyone else, but the idea is to make a big, bold, in-your-face splash and grab the clients in a captive environment. I mean; a subway? Clearly they know what they are doing.

For people in a hurry, that's nice and convenient.

I actually enjoy doing my food shopping each week, and pushing the cart around the store.....

Yeah, I really wouldn't want to stand and look and then scan. Seems tedious.

But I do like the idea. It's great if you're gonna be in a rush that whole day and don't have time to shop, but you really need, say, some tomato sauce for spaghetti that night. Well, there's your solution while you wait to go to work!
It's great for small things.

I could see using it for staples.

But, not for produce or meat. I like to see those in person.

I have bought a few grocery items from Amazon. But, it's always been stuff I couldn't find locally.

There's a joy to be had from doing it yourself. Physically holding the product you're going to buy rather than seeing a generic picture i think is better.
Also discovering something new or a product you havent tried before. Perhaps bumping into someone you know, or....would like to know. x

Fortunately, domestic help in Singapore is very inexpensive so she does the shopping.

But online purchases like that really are brilliant. As you wait for your tram shoot the 3 or 4 items you might need to make dinner, and its waiting on your doorstop as you get home from your commute.

Very few cultures shop like Americans do.

i love to grocery shop and will travel miles to my favorite markets to do so. It's like a hobby of mine. I know all the best places for fresh produce, the best butcher shops and grocery stores for staples. I wouldn't be interested in shopping online and then having stuff delivered.
