Look for G-Lex to make his big screen debut (and, presumably, farewell) in 2009. I was an extra in the independent comedy Skills Like This, which has a tentative release date of March 20th. I play a corporate drone who peeks over his cubicle wall, and according to a friend who handled the sound mixing, I even get a close-up.

I probably won't be in another film, though. I'm scared of being typecast. :)

Lex,are you going to be billed as"corporate drone"?;)Sounds like you had some fun, even if this is a one time only grand performance from our resident gargoyle and lacrosse fan.

Not billed at all. I wasn't even paid.

I had done the music and sound for a play written/directed by a guy here in town, so I ended up on his "mass e-mail" list. He was hired to bet "assistant casting director" for this film, which meant he was basically in charge of extras. He asked everybody to send a picture, and I goofily sent him the first one I found in my folder. (Oddly, Saucy, it was one of me standing with Gary Gait. :) ) He wrote back, said I'd be great for the office scene, and could I come down on Wednesday for filming?

I brought a couple changes of clothes (I don't own much that screams 'corporate drone'), but the wardrobe lady liked my shirt-'n'-tie ensemble. I knew from my limited experience that I might have to wait hours and hours before we were called in, so I brought snacks, books, and my Walkman. (Nobody else did - I ended up passing out books to a lot of people.) But we were called within an hour. They hoped to nail the scene in ten takes - it took only four. They did two close-up takes as well - one for me, one for two other people who look over their shoulder (I think). Each took only two takes. That was it - we were out within an hour of being called to set. The crew was ecstatic - they had expected to be there for hours.

>>>Can I tell people I have met you in person?

Don't be surprised if they don't believe you. :)

Oh you can always take a role in some broadway play where you happen to be nude on the stage to get rid of that old image ;)

Even then, they'll probably have me peering over the top of a cubicle in my birthday suit. No thanks. :)

>>>Just be sure to remember me when you make it in Hollywood.

You got it, Hank.
