This thing is 6 months old so excuse if this has been posted before :)

and whaddya know, my ring finger and index finger are exactly even

Apparently if you have a longer ring finger, it means you got more testosterone as a fetus and are more likely to be hyperactive, aggressive and disgusted by anything featuring Hugh Grant.

A longer index finger, on the other hand, means more estrogen, making you more neurotic and sensitive. So if your index finger is way longer than your ring finger, you're like the gayest dude ever, right?

Actually, no. Studies found that it was when the two fingers were nearly the same length that the subjects were more likely to be gay (men and women both)

Oh and errrm seems i dont have enough posts to post urls yet.... so you'll just have to google "6 Ridiculous Sex Myths (That Are Actually True)"

Have fun checking out your fingers :gogirl:

One one hand one finger is longer; on the other hand, the other finger is longer.

Maybe I'm really bi. Or it just averages out to make me über-gay.

What is the use of that study? Who paid for it?

The best way to find out if a person is gay is to ask them.

I'm sure most of us have answered no to this question at some point :P

But anyways just thought it seemed interesting. Should have made this a poll to test it........

my right hand has index and ring finger the same length.
left hand has ring finger longer than index

How strange. Both my ring fingers are significantly longer than my index fingers, and I'm far from hyperactive and aggressive. Also, I am obviously gay.

What is the size of the population sample used for this study?

People, these are trends, not absolutes.

Nonsense.

My index finger is longer than my ring finger, although maybe that is just from exercising it.

hmmm..... my ring and index fingers are very very close in length indeed, on both hands.

Longer ring fingers on both hands. And if you don't believe me, I'll knock your teeth in.

Lex

On the left hand the ring finger seems to be slightly longer but on the right one they seem to be even.

Now, what does that make me?

And if you've used either of those fingers to unzip another man's fly chances are you're gay.

neurotic and sensitive

Well, that describes me down to a T, so I should have longer index fingers....

....nope, I have longer ring fingers, which means....

hyperactive and aggressive

Hmph. I suppose, on rare occasions, I can be mildly hyperactive....

....but, sorry - I'm about as aggressive as one of hungrybrownbear's cute bunny rabbits.

Haha well "theory" just tends to be short for "omg i think this is real but cant really prove it". So who knows :P
I just thought it was cool cause my fingers were the same.

And if you've used either of those fingers to unzip another man's fly chances are you're gay.

Made my day :D

With me, it depends on whether I'm comparing finger length looking at the backs of my hands or my palms. When the backs of my hands are "up", my ring fingers are longer, but if my palms are "up", my ring and index fingers are the same length.

When you twist your forearms to turn your palms up, it changes the bone positions such that the ring fingers draw down. Simple biomechanics.

So, I've never known how to take that study. Did they do the comparison "palm up", or "back up"? Makes a big difference, and I've never seen that detail published.

Well on both my hands my ring fingers are larger than my index, yet I'm neither aggressive nor hyperactive, and I'm also gay. Oh well. I always tend to be the exception to rule, so it's no surprise that this time isn't any different.

Each time they come with a theory about male-to-male attraction, I don't fit in. I certainly don't fit in this one and I am not agressive or hyperactive either. I am for the full 100% into male-to-male attraction.

Both ring fingers are bigger than index fingers.

That sucks. How is supposed that faboulous white gold ring with diamonds is gon¡ing to fit in these king size fingers?

Maybe my fingers don't make me gay but probably that last sentences does so. :p
