Finally it's been accepted that our individual sexual orientation is genetic, embedded in our DNA. What about other gay traits, preferences, interests etc.? Are some or any of them also embedded in our DNA, or are they acquired over time and personal experiences?

How about being submissive or dominant in sexual relations, or your top vs. bottom preference? Genetic or Acquired?

Cross dressing? Genetic or acquired?

Underwear fetish? Genetic or acquired?

The list could go on to body piercing, water sports, etc. etc.

Erm.... nope. Not by most people outside of the Western world it hasn't. And not even by all in the U.S. either.

You see, there's no FEAR to be generated by accepting this. And that's why they prefer to believe that their innocent little straight boys are going to be corrupted and transformed by our near-telepathic powers, didn't you know? It feeds into the hate. I think it's emotions that some of them actually LIKE to feel.

I stopped believing that some people could be persuaded by rational scientific facts ages ago. They're not interested.

you know, how come there aren't any researchers trying to figure out why people are born straight? fucked up if you ask me.

i am all for science but i don't appreciate people from religious people to researchers treating homosexuality as some abnormality.

Well, there's the fear that once they isolate the DNA, they can work on eliminating it in vitro. But that would be our fear, not theirs.

sexual fetish interests are usually acquired. Much like the Pavlov's dog experiment. A bell is rung everytime they feed a dog, eventually they will ring the bell and the dog will salivate, associating that bell with food. It is also the base for the opposite in sexual aversion 'therapy' (think a clockwork orange).

I believe being gay is in the dna, but everything else, in my opinion, is learned.

No one knows for sure what makes a human being gay, bi or straight and all the flavour in between. And I'd like that to continue personally. We should no more care than to determine why some are left handed and some right handed, it should not matter more, in my opinion.

I suspect there are more than one causes of being gay. The diversity among gays suggests it. Sometimes, it seems clearly to be physical as when the person if very feminine and has a voice that we all recognize as being gay. Truman Capote, for instance, or Richard Simmons. I don't think they can avoid being feminine sounding like that and it must be a physical difference genetic or congenital. Of course some people may act feminine out or choice or habit.
On the other hand, some gays are very masculine acting and sounding. Whatever caused them to be gay it seems likely to be different from the cause of feminine gays.
Some guys are turned on by being dominant or even sadistic, while others are turned on by being submissive and some masochistic. Again, this suggests a different causation.

Well, let's say you've got a baby coming. And you can alter the genetic make-up any way you see fit. Do you make your child good at math? Well, why not? That can only be a positive, right? That doesn't mean people who ate bad at math are diseased, or should be bred out of existence. You just want your kid to have it goid, right?

I think it's the same thing all the way across the board. People want their child to have it easy, and "staight" is still easier than "gay".
