As a special Pride feature, one of CBC Radio's programs, Go, featured recordings of the gayest music of all time. The program was guest-hosted by Sandra Oh. I'm not sure if she chose the songs or not. Love it or hate it, here's the list in order of how they were played on the show.

Freedom 90—George Michael

Somebody To Love—Queen

Take A Chance On Me—ABBA

A Little Respect—Erasure

Proud—Heather Small (from Queer As Folk soundtrack)

Maybe This Time—from Cabaret soundtrack

Secret—Madonna

Rise Up—The Parachute Club

We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off—Kids On TV

You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me—Dusty Springfield

It’s Raining Men—Weather Girls

Left To My Own Devices—Pet Shop Boys

Air That I Breathe—k.d. lang

I Don’t Feel Like Dancing—Scissor Sisters

Believe—Cher

Gayest music of all time with no Village People??? wtf???

Well I see Madonna & Cher.

Just waiting for the uproar from the Barbra fan(atic)s.

The only songs on the entire list I know/like are by Scissor Sisters & Queen.

And no "Dancing Queen"? What else? Gloria Gaynor does not crack a mention? Some list!

This confirms that I do NOT like gay music. It wasn't so bad in the 80s, however, but most "gay" music is extremely fluff. I prefer baritone vocalists.

i love this song

He Whipped My Ass in Tennis and I Fucked His Ass In Bed

I think they missed some of the big ones on that list ... some straight person probably compiled the list!

This was always one of my favorites when I was growing up.

Oh, don't forget Donna Summer the gayest of them all!..|

Hey Pete - I've heard of Pansy Division before but never actually heard them. Thanks - I really enjoyed that!

Clearly chosen by a clueless straight person. "Of all time" and there's no Barbra (Yes, I AM a fanatical fan), no Donna Summer, no Bette Midler, no Judy or no Gloria Gaynor? As for Abba, it's "Dancing Queen." Any idiot should be able to figure that out. And for Madonna its "Vogue."

Like I said, I'm not sure if Sandra Oh chose the music or not. Also, because I didn't listen to the show (a friend told me about it after the fact and he didn't hear it either) I don't know what the criteria were. Some of the songs may be "gay faves" but I don't consider them all to be "gay", if that even has any meaning.

The gayest song of all time imo is Love Generation by Bob Sinclar, oh my...

I'm puzzled that the selection didn't include "Stand By Your Man."

Sometimes . . . it hard to be . . . a woman 8').

Of course, the only one who could ever move me . . . was the son of a preacher man!
