Try making a wheat milkshake.

ice, milk to cover, blend. Add Honey Smacks or Golden Crisp (or any sweetened puff wheat cereal) about 3/4 cup. blend util smooth.

Optional: Add honey or sugar if you want it sweeter, add a scoop of ice cream to make it richer and blend.

oooo nice way to start our giant thread out Beachie...I'll add this recipe:

Honey Bunches of Oats & Banana Treats!

Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 03:43AM
Since my dog chewed another pair of my headphones, lately I have been forced to workout without music and instead watch mute television. I like to think of it as a duel exercising: running while creatively imagining what they must be saying.
Anyways, Paula Dean was cooking up some delicious sliced bananas coated with crushed corn flakes that were baked and served over ice cream.
So I decided to create my own recipe after this same idea with what was in my kitchen.

Serves: 4
Prep: 10 mins
Cook: 15mins (serve immediately)
2 semi-ripe bananas
Plate-full of crushed Honey Bunches of Oats (However any type of corn-flakes will do)
Half a stick of salted butter
Few tablespoons of honey

In a small bowl melt butter and add in an equal amount of honey. Mix and set aside.

On a plate add enough crushed corn flakes to completely cover the surface.
Slice bananas into quarters.
Using a spoon (ideally using a brush) cover both sides of the banana with the melted butter+honey and then press each side into the crushed corn flakes so they completely cover the banana. (I found that lightly pressing in the flakes helped).

Transfer onto a baking sheet and cook for 15mins or until golden brown.

Serve right away with vanilla ice cream!

A few days ago, a friend from Romania told me she never had oatmeal. She might have been the same one who never had peanut butter, but that's another thread. (I think there's a thread here about oatmeal, btw.) Anyway, it started me wondering about places where people don't eat my familiar foods.

Nice! I'll try this this weekend.

I can never buy cinnamon toast crunch. If I do, that's all I eat until I finish the box...and usually they last for that first hour I come home with them.

yeah, I googled it...what about porage? from the 3 bears story?

Yeah, I knew that, but it gave me an extra post. And I bet you know the answer.

Does anyone remember Undercover Bears oatmeal? Great name.

Familia Muesli (Swiss). Got into it for dinner and substitute for airline food when travelling every week: would have business breakfasts and lunches and for dinner needed nutrition not volume. With a banana, of course.

I tried to have the revenge affair and head off with Silk or even Rice Milk, but it just isn't the same. It's more about the cow than I had realized.

Have you given hemp milk a shot? I'm a food-lover, not a hippie, and I think it's delicious. (I dislike rice, almond and soy milk.) It's not cow's milk, no, but it's the best of the substitutes imho.

I had almond milk with my cereal this morning, the unsweetened vanilla...the chocolate is good too but not on cereal

my kids love these right out of the box/they think it's candy--I haven't told them they are nutritious yet/why spoil a good thing amirightorwhat?

I used to eat them as a child. Unfortunately they stopped selling them in the UK quite a while ago, I believe. I was recently shopping and found a specialist store that stocks them along with every other cereal you can imagine. I was incredibly happy and bought a box, but for £7.99 I don't think I'll be doing it that often.

Generally though, I eat Weetabix with plenty of sugar. It gives me my energy for the day.
