The Giant Thread for Cereal Lovers

…We were having a perfectly happy romance when lactose intolerance wormed his way in.…
Have you tried ordinary skimmed milk? It takes a while to get used to; it must be served cold; but I love it now. I can still make custards, milk puddings and other desserts with it.

(I'm determined to hold on to my trim torso :))

I long for this cereal dearly;

I never see it anywhere

:eek: Oh, the horror! I use semi-skimmed - but fully skimmed milk is little more than coloured water as far as taste goes! ;) I also enjoy some double cream in my porridge - can't get above a 31" waist no matter what I eat!

Who remembers Quisp and Quake?

Used to have Quisp all the time when I was a kid. Quake was harder to find but I think it was the same cereal just in a different box.

When I was a kid, I was crack addicted to Freakies Cereal.

I begged my mom to buy it. I'd walk to the store and spend my allowance on it. I couldn't get enough!!!!

Then sadly, they dis-continued making it.

30-ish + years later, I STILL crave it, and remember what it taste like.

I also still have nearly two complete sets of all the figures! ;)

I used to love cereal just for the special items they'd put inside them. Heck, I still would like that now. Haha.

Cold cereal: Cheerios, Raisin Bran, Smart Start (maple and brown sugar - has become hard to find), Grape Nuts. The latter is the only one that I add anything besides milk (i.e. also using sugar).

Hot cereal: Maypo instant oatmeal (also hard to find, but not disgustingly sweet like most instant oatmeal), Malt-o-Meal (original; maple and brown sugar; chocolate), Coco Wheats. Also some natural buckwheat cereal I can't think of the name...

The few times I eat cereal now, it's usually Generic Lucky Charms out of a huge plastic bag that only lasts for like 2-3 days.

I tend to just have cornflakes, with a selection of dried fruits I mix myself. That way I can add the dry fruits I prefer!

:D
