What's tragic about Beck's faux populism crap is that people are too god damned dumb to realize that it wasn't any Marxist or Communistic ploys or programs that put them in the situation they are in, but rather, laissez-faire capitalism!

They can't comprehend when they harken to return to the "good old days" in the 1950s and 1960s when the economy was booming was because of liberalism and liberal's programs underwriting normal, everyday, Americans.

This is why I call the TeaBaggers/Foxpublicans a cult. They blindly follow their leaders, and mouth the simplistic talking points, and shut their brains off. They can't be reasoned with. They use circular logic, as well as logical fallacies.

Since I'm retired I surf the web looking for books. Usually they are digital photography, graphic design, etc. but I ran across this one today and I think it fits in here. Usually when I see Beck's name I continue on as fast as I can. But not this time.
What struck me was the review.

Beck is an opportunist who preys on the fearful and ignorant. Just a dozen years ago he had a pony tail and he's an alcoholic and drug abuser. You have to take him for what he is.... a demagogue who is making millions preying on the ignorant.

There have been people like him in the past, present and there will be more like him in the future..... opportunists out for a fast buck. Just don't fall for it.

You forgot an alcoholic and a drug ADDICT. There's a huge difference between someone who's smoked a joint every once in a blue moon vs. an asshat addicted to daily hits of his drugs of choice including crack.

He also is so despicable he had the gall to address my Congressman Keith Ellison, the first and only Muslim elected to Congress with this tripe; "Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies.' And I know you're not. I'm not accusing you of being an enemy, but that's the way I feel."

He's such a pig!

Probably because I was brought into beef with you by another poster here that turned out to be a fraud. I'd come on and get emails saying go to X thread, I need backup.

How ironic. The same self-proclaimed Progressives in here bashing numerous religious organizations were the very same ones who cried over the rallying against the Ground Zero mosque.

Funny, I don't remember anyone trying to take away the rights of Mormons to build a temple where ever they wanted to build it.

Even though they've gone out of their way to target the gay community with laws and tens of millions of dollars to take away our rights.

A group of Muslims wanted to build a community center and the Christians renamed it "the Ground Zero Mosque," ignoring that it's not a Mosque and it's not at ground zero.

and when called out on their bullshit, they burst into tears and play the victim.

Typical.
