The Goddess of Pop: The Official Kylie Minogue Thread

I just found a Kylie album in a second hand record store. Kylie X. I'll post my feelings after I give it a listen!

I hate the weird collar on that red dress. Looks like the neck of a tee shirt. Otherwise it's a stunning dress, She looks amazing!

I got the Abbey Road Sessions for Christmas! :3 I should have asked for Let's Get to It as well since that's the only KM studio album I don't own yet.

Congrats on your gift! What do you think of The Abbey Road Sessions?

My husband doesn't really care for the album "X". I give it a pass, it's good but nothing spectacular.

2 Hearts: We both like it. It's catchy, but really repetitive. Alright to dance to.

Like A Drug: My favorite track on the album. My husband loves it because he thinks it sounds raunchy. Great beat, it's hard to not dance to this one. So good!

In My Arms: We hated it. Right from the first note of the song. The chorus is a little better than the verses, but just slightly.

Speakerphone: I didn't care for this one. It's better than the last track, I suppose. My hubby kinda liked this one- he loves the beat and the "futuristic sound" to it.

Sensitized: We both liked this track. It's not really memorable though.

Heart Beat Rock: Neither of us were feeling this one. It has a weird Hard Candy vibe and I think that might have ruined it for him.

The One: I loved this song! It's my second favorite on the album. I love the music, I love her voice on this track, love the lyrics! My husband likes it a lot too, but not as much as I do.

No More Rain: We both thought it was "not bad". A little juvenile sounding perhaps?

All I See: This one was really good. It put us both in a Janet Jackson mood. Soft, cute, upbeat. We liked it!

Stars: He thought it was ok... I really liked it. Good dance track.

Wow: He really liked this one. I was less thrilled. I actually find this one kind of annoying.

Nudity: Mixed feelings, from both of us. There are some cool elements, some cool sounds, but there are some weird effects and sounds as well that bring the production down. It reminds him of Boa... whom I can not stand. He loves Boa though, and that might be why he seems to have more positive things to say about it than I do.

Cosmic: I liked it a lot. A good closing number. She sounds great on this track. My guy didn't like it as much though. He thought it was just "okay".

Yeah. I know what you mean. On my first listen I only liked two of the tracks. I've given it a couple of goes since then. It's slowly growing on me. I think the repeat plays are having the opposite affect on my guy though. It is a good dance album regardless.

Haha. Well, he is sleeping in the guest room tonight! Coincidentally... maybe.

I think it's good. There are some recreations that I like more than the originals and some that I like less, but the project was clearly important to Kylie and I'm glad she got the opportunity to do it, considering her record label seems less than cooperative when it comes to giving Kylie free creative control of her music a lot of the time*.

* - She originally wanted Flower on X, but Parlophone wouldn't let her have it on the album. They also fought with her over the inclusion of "No More Rain" which was about her overcoming her battle with cancer. I mean......

I couldn't believe my luck! We were walking past a bookshop in downtown Sydney and wondered what the crowd was all about.

We went inside and guess what? Kylie was there signing her new book. I saw her not 15 feet away!

She is just a beautiful sweet lady. A fantastic end to the year.:gogirl:

No, the queue was too long and we had to be somewhere. I was just happy to see her close by.

I was so shocked I didn't even think of taking a pic. I could have kicked myself afterwards.

Yeah, she's here for NYE. I knew she was in Oz but who would think you would literally run into her.

sux she isnt as big here in the states....shes fuckin awesome(!)

i want you and bender over for a weekend of kylie naked mania(!).......rsvp lover(*8*)

Never Too Late to love this song and video all over again. One of my early faves. So funky.

Cupid, I thought about you when they played Kylie at the club this weekend. and yes, I did know it was Kylie and actually liked the song ;)

Can it be true? The Australian press is saying Kylie has split with her manager Terry Blamey and has given up singing for acting.

Please say it isn't true!
