An old copy of the British magazine “Gay Times”, with Joe Orton on the cover. What makes it funny is the stamp on the front for the Reference Department of a North London Library. I wonder if somebody “pinched” it. Hope they weren’t going to deface the cover !!

The reference above has to do with Orton’s arrest record. He and his partner would steal books from their local library in London. Then they would paste odd or lewd photos on the covers and secretly return them. They were eventually caught and spend time in jail.

Later Orton became a successfully playwright of funny but subversive comedies. His partner grew jealous (fame and sex) and killed Orton then killed him self.
 
There is an excellent movie about Joe Orton that came out in ‘87 called “Prick Up Your Ears”. Gary Oldman plays Orton, and the always great Vanessa Redgrave is in the movie as well. Well worth getting on dvd, lots of great extras on it. The sex is dealt with in a very frank manner, as well as what it was like in England when gay sex was still very illegal. You might want to avoid this film if you’ve got a weak stomach: Joe Orton’s deranged partner kills him in his sleep with a hammer and the film is VERY graphic and bloody. Just be ready with the remote control in your hand when that scene comes up, otherwise it’s well worth watching.
 
I guess chris atkins was the sign for a lot of young guys that they are gay!

Seeing “The Blue Lagoon” was a total mind fuck when I hit puberty. This was before the internet and I was 13, so it’s not like I could go rent a gay porn video in the back room adult section of my local video stores, or go to a “dirty” bookstore. I was jerking off constantly, and i had buddies to mess around with.
One day my mom brought home several movies she’d bought on VHS types, one of them was “The Blue Lagoon”. I’d never seen Chris Atkins before this, and just seeing him on the box cover made me instantly hard. Imagine my shock at the nudity in this movie! And not just the typical nudity in R-rated movies, he was showing his DICK over and over. I was hoping to see it hard, but it still a huge turn on seeing it limp, even it wasn’t very big. He was so beautiful from head to toe I was hooked. What really shocked me was when Brooke Shields character told him she saw him “playing with it” and what happened after he did it long enough, in other words she had seen him cum. The most stand-out scene in the movie is where we see him sitting facing the ocean naked, his back to camera, and his arm rapidly going up and down as he jerked off. I really couldn’t believe what i was seeing, and i shot off countless times over it.
