Yeah - subtlety was not what they were going for!

I remember the first time I dared venture into the adult book store - trying to make it appear I was looking at the straight mags while my eyes were glued to the gay rack - these titles excited / fascinated / terrified me. Amazing how those guys could be so open about it!

I know the internet destroyed magazines, but I wish they would all make a cumback. I can't be the only gay man on earth that misses magazines! Everything from large glossy ones to small Readers Digest size ones full of friction fiction. Sure, beating off while looking at a computer screen is fun. But I do miss laying in bed jerking myself retarded looking at magazines. I loved finding them in my mailbox, especially Freshmen, and the sense of anticipation wondering what was inside the envelope. You always knew it would get "used" plenty, pages sticking together, smudges of Albolene on the pages. I still have boxes of magazines I love to look through. I've got a feeling someday some of them will be worth money too!

I've got tons of old mags, too, though I tried not to splooge on the pages, so they'd still be good to go when I wanted to swoon all over them again. Ah! Nights in bed, with the reading light on, collecting images for dreaming, while petting "Animal" to calm him down, so I could get to sleep faster. Yeah. The internet has seen them left in hiding, all stacked up. Not sure when I last looked at one. Don't even know how many there are. Maybe a couple hundred. They probably date back to the late 70s, or so. I even have some still in their 'plain' mailing wrappers, never opened. I've been thinking I should sort them out some day, and maybe see what they might bring on eBay, or such. Having never tried to sell anything, that venture could prove interesting in itself. I have been kinda glancing into it. Seems like it could be complicated.

I'd hate to see them tossed and recycled. They're a look into boy mag history. Color printing was still evolving. It isn't just the fashions that look a bit weird. Did we Really used to dress like that?

Now it's all pixels on a screen. At least that leaves both hands free, and you don't have to stash anything, just tap a 'button' to turn it off. Clean up hasn't changed much, though. There's still a mess whether lounging in bed, or sitting in a chair. (!w!)
