I do wonder why people don't go after the religious for this.

What if the kid gets done as a baby Jew or Moslem and becomes an atheist later in life? Or what if the parents have the kid done for religious reasons but don't really bother much with the religion after that so the kid is not even brought up religious?

I don't think religion should be a free pass - religion is another type of tradition, essentially, and circumcision is as unnecessary as a tradition on religious grounds as it is on aesthetic ones.

I agree wholeheartedly with this. I've long-since decided that I won't have my sons snipped and they can choose for themselves when they're older, but I refuse to be pissy at my folks for doing what they thought was right for me based on what was purported to be sound medical advice obtained by a licenced practitioner.

They didn't have me cicrumcised to be intentionally malicious or cause me untold psychological and physical harm, of that I'm pretty certain, so what would I achieve by hating them for it?

I see your reasoning based on what was purported to be sound medical advice...but that advice has changed with greater knowledge, and also based on increasing attention to ethics within the medical profession, and regard for the integrity of the patient. So while I wouldn't hate my parents, and while you can too often still find a doctor willing to perform the procedure for no medical reason, the trend is not looking good for modern parents who wish to impose cosmetic circumcision on their boys.

So... what are the rules - winner fucks loser?

One last and final point regarding the 'flap' over circumcision...it is obvious
the uncut are jealous ad afraid of the pain in having it done as adults. The
thrifty Hebrews have it done while the job is small and so is the fee. The
Goniffs are trying to cash in and sell foreskins like the guys at the carnivals
used to sell snake oil.

The joke​

So this mohel is retiring after 40 years of rabbinical service and decides he's going to get himself something nice. So for the last couple of years of performing the bris, he collects all the foreskins in a jar (suspension of disbelief, please; thanks).

A week before his last day at work, he takes them all to a tanner and tells the guy his story, and asks the tanner to make him something nice from all the skins. The tanner tells him to come back in a few days.

He gets there a few days later and the tanner gives him a small box. He opens it and inside is a very small wallet.

He says to the tanner "I can see the skill you have and the level of craftsmanship that went into making this thing, but there like more than a thousand foreskins in there and this is the best thing you could come up with?"

The tanner replies "just rub the wallet a few times and it'll expand into a full-sized suitcase with matching overnight and laptop bags."

I think Mr RonR18 would be about twelve thousand over the limit.

There was nothing hostile about his original post so no he doesn't meat your criteria for why you think he should be banned. I said her PERSONALLY prefers circumcised. We are allowed to call bullshit over something we do not agree on in the politics forum.

But I must say I was cut at age 13, and I lost SOME sensitivity but not as much as people make it out to be. I'm happier this way though, the trade was worth it. And that's my personal opinion that I shouldn't be condemned for.
