Chapter 16
Almost a full month passed, and Callum and Rob grew closer with each day of it. They loved each other, had fun together, could talk for hours, and the sex was amazing. But no relationship is perfect. Rob’s main complaint about Callum was one that he suspected was really a fault of his own, not Callum’s. Although Rob’s self-image had improved astoundingly, that didn’t mean he wasn’t still a paranoid person by nature. Callum had never technically specifically specified if he believed himself to be gay, or bisexual. Rob had never felt threatened by the thought that Rob had previously been with a woman and had sex with her, but as time went by he started to feel suspicious. He also felt confused. Should he be less annoyed if he saw Callum checking out women than if he was checking out men, or should he actually feel more threatened that maybe Callum would feel like a woman could give him something Rob couldn’t? Were there any reasons for him to be annoyed or threatened at all? At first Rob just thought he was being paranoid, but Callum began to get more and more openly flirtatious with women in front of his boyfriend. One night they were out at a club in town with Callum’s friends. A girl approached Callum and Rob and started dancing between them. Rob wasn’t attracted to women, but he knew without looking at the wandering eyes of the straight guys that this one was going to be popular. She had long black hair that trailed smooth and silky down her back, she had suspiciously large breasts for a woman with so little fat anywhere else, and she was also very pretty with beautiful eyes. The girl started to share her attentions with Rob and Callum. Rob drifted away; standing at the bar he watched to see how Callum would play it. It seemed cool. Rob wasn’t too sure where the line was anyway, the line which if overstepped would result in Rob getting angry. He turned towards the bar and saw an old school friend. He bought her a drink and they talked. When he turned around five minutes later, he saw a different scene. Callum was dancing with the girl as if they were a couple, or at least as if he was going to take her home. He held her hips as she ground her body against his. Rob looked at the foolish grin on Callum’s face as he ran his hands over her body. The girl didn’t object as he touched her. Rob cursed under his breath, a part of him hoping he’d squeeze those puppies too hard and her implants would explode all over him. This thought was accompanied by the corresponding mental image, which would usually have prompted laughter from Rob. That night, Rob was not amused. He felt like he was overreacting, but at the same time he was angry. He was angry because he was scared. Callum was the best thing that had ever happened to him, what happened if he wasn’t what Callum wanted? Callum was a horny son of a bitch, Rob knew that, he enjoyed servicing that need very much, but he also knew that Callum had cheated on his ex-girlfriend after complaining that the sex wasn’t frequent enough. Was there anything stopping him hooking up with this girl? One of Callum’s friends approached Rob.
“Y’alright mate?”
Rob snapped out of his intense and confused thought bubble.
“What? Yeah I guess. I’m not feeling so good…maybe I’ll go sit outside.”
“Really? You gonna be ok?”
“Yeah I just feel a bit sick that’s all. I’ll get some fresh air and maybe if that doesn’t help head home.”
“Ok take care. I’ll go tell Callum you’ll be outside. I’m sure loverboy will come look after you!”
Rob nodded, but he wasn’t so sure.
He sat outside on the steps for about twenty minutes thinking things over. He wanted to tell himself he was exaggerating things. That Callum loved him and didn’t want anyone else. His jealousy was far too great. What if Callum really did prefer women? Was that a problem? Maybe he was the problem. He’d always known he wasn’t good looking enough for Callum. He looked down at his shoes. Cheap. His body, not worth looking at. He raised his hands to his face. His nose, too big. His lips, too thin. His eyes, he imagined they were too red, as tears started to fall. He didn’t blame Callum for wanting somebody else. He looked at his watch. He’d been sitting alone for almost half an hour. Nothing from Callum. He sighed as he stood up and began the journey home.
Four hours later he was asleep. He dreamt of Callum. His dreams were bittersweet. They would sit on a beautiful beach together, they would be happy. They would have sex and enjoy each other for hours. Rob would fall asleep with his lover. In the morning, he’d be gone forever. His dreams were confused when everything turned bright. He fidgeted, trying to work out if this light was real or if he was dreaming. He felt a body next to his, hands pulling his boxer shorts down. He groaned, this wasn’t a dream.
“Callum? Why are you here?”
“Why do you think I’m here baby?”
Rob had given Callum a key to the maisonette since he often ended up being late back from work and so late meeting Callum there.
Callum wasted no time in lubing up a finger and slipping it into Rob’s arse. Rob could feel Callum’s erection against his back. He could smell the alcohol on his breath.
“Callum please baby.”
“Shh Robert. You know you want me.”
“Not now, I don’t feel too good, I need to sleep.”
Callum pulled Rob towards him and forced his tongue into his mouth. He held Rob’s head firmly. When Rob managed to pull away he begged Callum to stop.
“Please Callum you’re totally wasted. I don’t want this right now.” He wanted to talk about how he felt, but he knew it would be lost on a drunk Callum.
“I’ll drive you home Callum, and we can talk when you’re not drunk anymore.”
Callum laughed. “You’re a funny guy Robert.”
“Cal...”
Callum pushed Rob’s head into the pillow. Rob turned his face so he could breathe, and tried again. “Callum baby I love you, but I’m not happy right now, I need to sleep. I don’t want to have sex with you right now.”
Callum acted as if he hadn’t heard, turning Rob over and straddling his chest.
“Callum,” Rob was beginning to get scared. He knew that Callum was stronger than he was, and this was bringing back horrible memories. “I’m saying no. If you care about me even a little, you’ll get off me and stop this right now.”
Callum began to rub his cock against Rob’s cheek.
“Callum I’m warning you, you try to get that into my mouth and I’ll bite it.”
Callum leaned back, just in case Rob wasn’t lying.
“Maybe I’ll have to put it somewhere that won’t bite then.”
“Fuck off Callum I said no. What are you gonna do? Force me?”
“I shouldn’t have to, you’re my boyfriend, you’re supposed to want it.”
Callum swayed, trying to stay upright. He leant down and whispered in Rob’s ear. “You know, maybe if you didn’t refuse to open your legs this sort of thing wouldn’t happen to you.”
“So you’re going to rape me are you?”
“No, because you’re going to let me.”
Rob paused for a moment, and then he kissed Callum. Tears were running down his cheeks when he pulled away.
“I love you.” He said.
“I love you too.” Callum replied.
When Callum moved back in for another kiss, Rob punched him sharply in the face. Callum clutched his cheek, shocked at the power of sleepy Rob’s punch. Rob couldn’t control his tears.
“Get out Callum, before I change my mind about wanting to speak to you when you’re sober.”
The drunken Callum sat confused, rubbing his cheek. Rob wasn’t sure how to feel, but he took pity on his wasted boyfriend. He took Callum’s hand and pulled him up. He told him to get into bed, and Callum obeyed. As expected, within 15 minutes Rob could tell Callum was in a deep sleep, unlikely to wake up for a few hours. Rob watched him sleep for a while, before dressing and going to sleep on the sofa. He didn’t realise he was doing it, but he put on three pairs of boxer shorts.
Rob awoke around midday. Going to his bedroom, he found that Callum was still sleeping. He shook his head as he walked into the kitchen to make tea. His mum was on holiday with a friend, and Rob was pleased she hadn’t had to see Callum in the state he’d been in earlier that morning. As Rob drank his tea, Callum walked in wearing only his boxer shorts.
“Did you put me to bed?”
Rob nodded.
“Thanks. You’re too good to me. Fuck I was so drunk.”
Rob turned to face Callum.
“Do you remember what you did last night?”
Callum stopped smiling. “Shit. I didn’t do something bad did I?”
Rob sighed and patted the seat next to him. “I’ll make you some tea and you can think about it.”
Callum rubbed his eyes, still sleepy and worse for wear from his alcohol consumption. He sipped his tea and thought about the night before. As it started to dawn on him he turned white.
“Oh god…I” Callum didn’t know what to say. “I was totally wasted, I’d never hurt you. I love you.”
Rob looked at his hands. He’d been too trusting in the past.
“You know I wouldn’t have…” Callum stopped. He didn’t want to use the word rape; that made him sound like a criminal.
“I wouldn’t have forced you.” Callum finished.
“I’m not so sure.” Rob replied. “I tried to talk to you but you were just too drunk. I had to hurt you to get you to stop.”
He looked Callum in the eye. “Why did you come to my house?”
“I was drunk I thought it’d be a good idea and I was so horny…”
“Why didn’t you fuck that bitch at the club then?” Rob mumbled bitterly.
Callum raised an eyebrow. “Are you jealous?”
“No Callum I’m not jealous, why the fuck would I be jealous? You screwed me around over your ex-girlfriend, but I was ok with that because you were confused about your sexuality and all that bullshit. But now you can’t stop perving over girls wherever we go. You and her were grinding against each other whilst I was there, why should I believe you didn’t go further after I’d left? I was upset Callum, I felt sick, but you wanted to dance with the pretty girl with the big tits rather than spend time with me. You’d rather dance and flirt with her then just come home get in my bed assuming I’ll be all hot for you and take advantage of me. Fuck you Callum. I was angry enough when I came home last night, you trying to get me to have sex with you after all that was something I could not have guessed a guy like you would do. Before I was thinking maybe I was just being paranoid, but then you just went and hurt me. Fuck Callum, you tell me you love me, I’m finding that pretty hard to believe.”
Callum sat still, trying to take in Rob’s swift angry rant. He took Rob’s hand.
“What I did to you last night in bed was wrong. But on the other thing, I think you’re overreacting.”
“I might be, I know I’m paranoid, but you’ve cheated on people before. I guess I’m extra paranoid over you because you might be bisexual or whatever, but if you didn’t flirt so outrageously with these girls I wouldn’t have to worry would I?”
“You’re being too uptight Robert. You’re the one I love.”
“Yeah you say that, but you’ll probably just fuck off for some girl when you get horny and I’m not there.”
Callum shook his head. “I don’t need this. I’m leaving.”
“Fine. Fuck you Callum. I don’t need another guy who’s just going to hurt me. You’re bisexual so you’ll just cheat on me twice as much. You can fuck off now.”
“Wanker” was Callum’s final word to Rob before he slammed the door behind him and left for home. When he was gone Rob held his head in his hands. A tear dripped into his tea. What had he just thrown away?
